It would be nice if that were true, but to even ATTEMPT it would first require getting Hamas out of power.
FWIW I have very little hope as well, the only area of improvement I have seen over the last 20 years is POSSIBLY Palestinians that have Israeli citizenship. An argument can be made that those relations are better, and truthfully I am not sure I believe that. I have been to Israel a few times but not enough to have a definitive opinion. Over the last 20 years both sides have only become more extreme IMO and even more entrenched in their views. In the past there would just be a genocide, with one group killing the other....... but I don't think in 2023 that the world will allow it to happen. The sticking point is that no one will take the Palestinians....
For there even to be an attempt at getting towards peace, the following two things need to happen first: 1. Hamas needs to be eradicated 2. The "Palestinians" need to undergo some serious de-programming. They have been indoctrinated from childhood with unending hate against Jews and Israel. How do you even ever get that out of their heads again?
To eradicate Hamas, you have to cut off the funding from Iran and Qatar and I am not sure they can be shamed into doing that. They have to go, but its almost like saying we need to get rid of ISIS, hell yea we should, but doing it is another story. I also worry about the rest of the hostages from a logistical standpoint, there are only so many places to hide them and I just hope they don't bomb or drowned them trying to find Hamas not realizing where the hostages are.
Imagine being an intern thinking that you can dictate policy for the president. I've never seen anything more delusional in my life
I find it hard to believe only because it has been known that IDF has been going to do this for at least a few days. If it is true - it is morbidly funny though.
Why would the IDF allow the music festival to happen if they knew there could be an attack? Why would they not move troops to the south from Lebanon? I sincerely don't get it
Well - one reason is that the hardliners may have wanted 10/7 to happen because it gives an excuse to go into Gaza and reoccupy the territory. Netanyahu was greatly against Israel leaving Gaza when it happened, he is fiercely against a two-state solution, and he allowed Qatar to bring in literally duffle bags of funding that he knew was going to Hamas. Why would he do any of that?
