So do you think that is speech that is a
Threat that should be banned especially given that people who follow they speaker have not only harassed but convicted of violence backing that speaker.

So calling me an “antisemite” and “no moral
Compass” isn’t trying to cancel me.

They’re giving you a piece of their minds and you’re free to respond back with a piece of your mind. Nobody should be cancelled around here.

If you replace the word Jew with Black, this whole forum will be hot and bothered and then we will have a thread with 10k pages. Rep Stefanik should try to ask these losers the same way, they would not have that lame word “context” in their answers. They all should be fired and all the donors should ask for their money back. The left has never been a friend to Jews.

Bullying and harassment are not protected speech. The judgment is on whether it's bullying or harassment, and that has to be context-based. If a student specifically calls for the genocide of Jews, that, to me, is clearly over the line. If a student chants a common political slogan, I'm not so sure.

I haven't followed those hearings (they are junk, all of them - just political junk). What would be interesting is specific cases of what happened and the university's response to those. I don't place much value on tweets either.

With all that said, again, my position has been and still is that hate and harmful speech (especially aimed at any individual or groups based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, political status, and so on) should generally not be allowed. With that definition, political slogans such as "from the river to the sea" and "LGBT is not people; it's an ideology" shouldn't be allowed.

I recommend you watch the videos of the three Jewish students talking about what has been happening to them.

Does anyone find it ironic that a poster who supports and defends the Neo-nazi's support of DeSantis is crying on the internet about hate speech.

At least @rocketsjudoka had a moral compass to lose. I don't think the people on my ignore list ever had one in the first place.

The same crowd posting about verbally threatened students in this thread couldn't care less about the actual danger to students or they would be for sensible gun control that might curb gun violence at schools across the country. But that doesn't fit their outrage narrative.

It's a much cleaner section with CirclingTheDrain on ignore, it's like NYC during late March 2020.

Ya I dedicated too much of my life debating a terminally online loser who pegs himself as a CEO and has used 10 years of his life to constantly b****ing about Muslims and trans people on a basketball forum.

It's time to put this guy on ignore and forget this person exists.

The "new development" is the notion that calling for the genocide of Jews is not considered harassment or grounds for punishment.

A tiki torch bro saying the same things would probably be sent home until he wrote a letter promising to think and act better.

Feels like a no brainer to me for an institution that ideally fosters and encourages diversity and inclusion.

No one's taken a stab at this, but...Can you explain to me what "it violates the code of conduct if it turns into action" means for them?
