If the rockets were going to trade Sengun before the season, I think Embiid would have the been the top guy they were hoping would become available. Now, it would depend on whether the 76ers threw Maxey is in the deal as well.

So rationally, absolutely and obviously yes. But fans get to be irrational. Hope and prospect is sometimes more fun. We sucked for too long, we now want enjoy the process no pun lol

Depends on what other moves we could make to give him a supporting team.

If you replace Sengun with Embiid straight up we still won’t be good enough to challenge for a title. Embiid would cost a lot more than Sengun too. Don’t see how it helps us at all.

The difference in age is a huge factor combined with Embid's injury history. A trade would never be these players straight up so it also depends on the overall trade pieces.

Embiid is 29, so we would basically have a 2-3 year window in his prime still. We saw how fast Harden fell off once he hit like 32. I personally would say no unless we somehow found a way to acquire another top 10-15 player at the same time.

    Sengun plays for 40 % salary of Londale-Amen-Jeff, 30 % JGreen and likely 7-10 % of Embiid.

    Not a good HR movement.

True. But you wouldn't do this back in 2016-17. That's the problem.

In a few years, 29 NBA GMs will say this about Alperen Sengun.

If it means that 90% of GARM threads aren't Sengun threads, then yes.

He's turning 30, has injury risks, and is a playoff choker at a 36% cap hit. It's important in the modern NBA that your max contract guys are providing consistent max contract value. I would not trade equivalent "value" for him.

No. Only because I see embiid having a career ending injury the second after he signs an extension with Houston
