A lot of those Only guys have tied themselves to this prize horse......they would look absolutely bad if he did not turn out to be a star player.... Leaning back.....
It is not BS, more likely below mediocre teams will want to obtain him, and would probably give up another prospect in development.
Or a guy that doesn't fit their rebuilding timeline look for teams on the beginning of a rebuild and let them start with Green, and pilfer maybe their best player in their mid 20s... This whole thing is hardly black and white, if you have decided to move on from Green there will be a market. DD
I assume the Rockets would listen to and entertain offers. They'd be crazy not to. They don't have to publicize it.
Who are these Only Green fans? They simply don't exist..... what you are confusing them for is still having some optimism that Green can still turn into something worthwhile. Seems like the anti Green guys are more of a thing......
Yea..... that's how young player development works...... I truly don't understand how you and others just toss common sense and player development out of the window because you dislike Green that much? Do I think Green's ceiling is the same as when he got drafted? No, but there's still a lot of very favorable outcomes possible.
They've literally been doing this and running this narrative since the second we drafted him. I do wonder if any top draft pick has ever been routed for to fail has hard as the "Rockets fans" pray, beg, and dream for Jalen to fail?
I agree, I think he will be a nice starting or 6th man level player but never a superstar. The minute the Rox think that, they have to decide if some team overpays him as a RFA, they have to let him go..... DD
And that's still pretty valuable and just doesn't make sense to sell low on Green. The Rockets should definitely listen to offers, but not panic trade Green. I certainly think superstar status is very unlikely at this point I think we should remain patient.
And like you said, you are a serviceable poster outside the Green spectrum....admittedly better than the other Green fans but okay. You are overrating my presence in the Green conversation, I am very indifferent towards that guy, I have not demanded to trade him at all....but I guess people do not get credit for that no more.
Just crank up your search engine, basically those guys that talk about Green 90 percent.........which I do not get. But you are right that I simply do not want to see threads about him positively or negatively......after every darn game. He is so overtalked around here. And I am saying this as someone who was called looking like a Filipino dude.
does I really don't disagree with you - there are favorable outcomes. The real question is: How likely are those favorable outcomes?? I just don't believe the odds are on Green's side, mainly because he really has no one thing he does exceptionally well skills wise. He's not a good shooter, he had improved to "league average" but has since regressed back to his career average. At the rim he has improved but in the mid range he's shooting an abysmal .313. While he's improved as a defender, he's still very bad, not only one on one like getting beat back door but in terms of team defense he's routinely out of position, misses rotations and close outs, a lot of the one pass away plays teams make against the Rockets is a direct result of Green. He's an average passer. He's an average ball handler - that might be giving him more credit than is deserved. Last season there was a stretch when he was the lone guard on the floor, he couldn't even get the ball across the time line. There have been 3 games so far this year where he had more turnovers than shots made. He's an average rebounder. His FT numbers are dead on league average. I think he tries real hard most of the time and he did work all offseason .... I'll give him the E for effort.
Anti Green pro KPJ... Same thing. KPJ was the low bb iq iso player that his haters rant about when it comes to Green except that KPJ was a horrible teammate and woman beater on top of it. This is the first real NBA coach Green has had and and the first time the franchise has tried to win while he has been on the team. DD jumped Green's free agency up a year just to claim his evaluation and future were urgent matters. Let the front office and Ime evaluate him with a open mind providing an unobstructed view unlike the obstructed view DD has from KPJ's balls swinging in front of DD's eyes. We are not winning **** this year. We don't have to make a decision on Green. Let's see what we've got. If a great deal comes along and Green has to go to get a better player, so be it,
He is shooting for the Moon too soon, and he does not know himself well enough to know what his weaknesses are...... He is trying to be Kyrie while he cannot even score as consistently as Jamal Crawford..... bites off way too much than he can chew at this point. While at Duke, Kyrie played relatively pragmatically, whatever got it done. His handles 10x tighter.
I think people expecting to see some drastic improvement in Green this year will be disappointed. Its not just him shooting bad. Its the type of shots hes getting. Hes not a guy who you can count on every night to be an offensive engine. He doesnt have the skills for that. His ball handling, playmaking and self creation are all lacking. I dont think his iq is as bad as people say, but i just dont think hes skilled enough and thats why he has these big ebbs and flows. Yeah hell get hot some nights or for a stretch but as soon as things tighten up or the shots arent dropping as easily he is not skilled enough to counter it and still produce. I think its highly unlikely he makes that type of jump in season and maybe not ever.
Yes Couldn’t have said it best Now watch as his fans loose their ****, cause they swear he the next Vince Carter
If you have noticed, many players with potential, they play directly. KPJ and Green played games like it is the All Star Game......that is going to be very hard to un-learn. It is fun watching them at times but that is about it.
I did a search and no one is talking about Green 90%. He's just been a scapegoat in a season in which we are exceeding expectations so far. One of our high draft picks is overtalked on here....? You mean like in this thread about it being time to trade Jalen Green?
