    Rebounds
    Rockets 56 Lakers 48 (L)
    Rockets 35 Nuggets 41 (L)
    Rockets 40 Mavericks 38 (L)
    Rockets 49 Nuggets 46 (W)
    Rockets 49 Grizzlies 46 (W)
    Rockets 48 Warriors 42 (L)
    Rockets 34 Lakers 42 (L)
    Rockets 47 Clippers 47 (L)
    Rockets 45 Nuggets 49 (W)
    Rockets 42 Pelicans 49 (W)

    Rockets 57 Lakers 34 (W)
    Rockets 39 Kings 34 (W)
    Rockets 53 Kings 43 (W)
    Rockets 38 Hornets 44 (W)
    Rockets 42 Warriors 49 (L)
    Rockets 43 Spurs 43 (L)
    Rockets 31 Magic 57 (L)

Only 4 of 9 losses did the Rockets also lose the battle of the boards.
We've only lost the battle 7 of 19 games, win or loss. That's pretty damned decent, especially for a bunch of shortbois.

The more accurate correlation right now is whether the game was in Houston or not.

We are 19th in the league for Total Rebounds (tied with Nuggets), 6th for defensive rebounds.

OKC not a good rebounding team, 26th in total.

@Jontro what do you recommend for those of us who feel too small to consistently win?

it's not the size of our players, it's how we look while we lose. you gotta lose with the right movements and confidence

Meh. Can use a backup rim protector but otherwise we're fine.

Height is just one of many factors that impact the game just like speed, strength, effort, etc. Height is important while at the same time it's never been less important. There have never been this many successful 6'9/6'10 C's in the NBA. We have arguably the least athletic MVP in NBA history.

Height is not really killing us as much as strength if you ask me. Lack of an efficient perimeter scorer or 6th man scorer or a backup rim protector is hurting us most right now imo.

I’m too lazy, but I wonder what our defensive metrics are for opponents finishing in the paint against us.

From the games I’ve seen (not many unfortunately) we could use a long back up center to intimidate opponents from driving so much.

It also seems like we foul a lot so teams look to drive against just to exploit that.

Chodes Dillon and Sengun will save the day

Too small or not thick enough? Remember when we used to have PJ guarding centers and James guarding power forwards, both 6′5? Now that is small and still they did a decent job.

Alpi and Jabari are supposedly both 6'11, that is definitely enough. They just need to beef up, especially Bari, and they will they are still very young.
Now people know why we needed Brook Lopez, shame he did not come.

Yes trade #28 for Markkanen...but Utah won't accept the offer.

Some size would be nice, but i dont think thats what is hurting them.

The issue is this is a Sengun centric offense and we dont have shooters around him.

Also right now they are subbing Jalen and Jabari early and subbing them back in with the bench unit and hoping that would make the 2nd unit formidable on offense.

But Jalen isnt nearly good enough offensively to carry a unit right now. Not sure if he ever will be.
But for now, he absolutely isnt. His game is Sengun dependent.

If Landale wasnt a complete scrub they could sub jalen and sengun early and bring those two in with the bench unit instead of Jalen and Jabari.

Lack of a decent second team is what’s killing us, especially at the 5. The starting unit is a top 5 unit +- (was the best a few weeks ago). Amen coming back and hopefully finding a sharp shooter and backup center would remedy that. West coast refs have also factored into our demise on the road. Jabari will get stronger. Patience is key, not trading away our young core.

Show me a team from the past that has 3 players in the starting lineup that are all 21 and younger. 2 of the top 3 players off the bench are a sophomore and a rookie that is doing better than this team right now. Show me that and I will join the b**** and moan parade. Until the then this team looks drastically better than the recent past and should hopefully continue to improve for season to come.

How about a Jalen Green/Jock Landale for Jaden Ivey/Jalen Duren trade and we both get what we want? Guarantee that Silas would like to have Green with him in Detroit and quite honestly it would be a better fit for him as they don’t focus as much on defense.
