So why not bench him if he isn't doing well? I would assume Ime knows more about player rotations than CF so if he is still gets PT there must be something he is doing right.
How do you know he won't develop? Dude is 21 yrs old. Did you even see the thread comparing JG to other 3rd year guards? Pretty sure those guys developed and JG is in the middle of that group. Secondly he isn't getting PT to develop he is getting PT to win games. Take it up with Ime but I'm pretty sure Ime knows what he is doing more than you.
I think they are gonna give him a long rope. The organizations rope is longer than mine, they just want to be very sure before they give up on him.
Nah because his trade value is low so it wouldn't make a difference if you traded him or not. Yes and what's wrong with that? Kids his age hasn't even finished college. He's only 1 Hes only 2 He's only 3 He's only 4 Hes only 5 Repeating something doesn't mean you have a point.
That is paraphrasing you when you said '2nd picks are no guarantees' which I replied that I did not emphasize him being 2nd Overall Pick overly right now.....and I did not disagree in any form or manner. I might have 2 years ago but I am past that. Please read before you react, lol. Or else I am paraphrasing a Crazy Person as well. He is not playing well on the Road, what is more to be crazy about? I am the least person you should worry about because I am not crying for trades after every loss lmao, I am just suggesting things to improve on.
Lol only a handful thinks he should be traded, others are just playing the waiting game and talk the talk.....
His apologists have gone so far as to say that we have to wait till he's 25 to judge his performance at all. What I'm curious about is in 2 months will they switch to "he's only 22" or will they just pretend he's still 21 for the rest of the season? Could go either way.
let's never ever argue again that Jalen is the face of the franchise. Our team becomes irrelevant without him.
I think a week on the bench to reflect on his play and watch tape would be a huge benefit for his growth.
To be completely honest, I don't believe he's a "Finished Product" either. But what I'm not willing to do is compare his pure statistics to some other players like they predict anything. Particularly when the last two years of numbers are totally lacking context. On any other team he never would have been given 32 minutes and 16 shots a game while playing poorly overall. Comparing him to Ant or SGA and some of these others is just silly. While there's likely growth to be had, I really don't think that potential growth is enough to turn him into a player capable of consistently contributing to winning in the NBA.
I don't buy the trade value BS - he still has upside - and some teams are at a different stage of their rebuild, we should try to look at them and see if they have pieces that might fit better than an ISO player like Green. DD
Contrary to popular belief, we don't really have a year if you factor in everything. I know folks speak about RFA, and such, but meanwhile his speculative value out there now, could be at levels not reached again. Also, this team is about developing AND winning basketball games. I'm under the impression that many underestimate that "speculative value" to certain teams at present. Of course, there is risk associated with what we're doing, and sometimes you need to lock in profits. Again, I want to move JG before the deadline, for a young, but established high quality player that we can plug in. Going past the deadline is a much more serious commitment than many seem to realize..
Completely agree, once we put the RFA tag on him his value plummets....why don't the Rocket's believe in him...will be the story. DD
I certainly don't think he's a finished product, I'm just critical of those who still assume based on his draft position that he'll one day miraculously turn into a superstar. The excuses and the blaming everyone and everything else shtick is already played out. At a certain point we need to stop pushing so hard and see if the other young guys would do better with the role and minutes he's never had to earn.
