I love Meco but Shane Steichen calling plays for CJ... man... CJ is this good with a trash OC right now..
Rams up 10-7 on the browns. GOOOO RAMS! One of my goals for us this season is for our draft pick to actually end up lower than the browns pick!
Thanks! Can't STAND that guy and I'm not much for reality TV anyway so I never would have got it. lol
Ask MadMax he knows I only use that power when it is necessary. If you don't believe me, I don't really care. I am still cashing in on two bets....Texans -3 and Atlanta -2 in a parlay, and Texans -3 in it's own bet....for a good chunk of change. DD
I hope not. I really want to see DeMeco get it. We had a worse record last year than the Colts, but yeah, they were almost as bad. We do have a lot of rookie starters though, and he's been a great coach, mentor, and motivator for these guys. We've also had so many injuries this year that we have had to go to 2nd and 3rd man on our depth chart half the season it seems. Dell being out for the rest of the season is really a tough loss for us. Obviously, our offense is much better with Stroud, but one of the biggest changes I've seen is how much better DeMeco's run defense is. We are only allowing 90.7 yards rushing per game compared to last year's 170.2. That's a big difference.
That’s the thing, they are winning and they’re still not showing up to the games. Just like when the rockets were good. Fans show up late and leave early. You have stroud and jj watt having to ask fans to show up early and get loud. No other teams have to beg their fans to go to the games.
No because division tiebreak is used as the first tiebreaker in multiple team tiebreak scenarios. Colts hold the tiebreaker over us.
Yeah DeMeco has been a breath of fresh at at the coaching position but it's impressive what Steichen has done for that team as well. Them being 7-5 and being in the playoff hunt is a big deal too.
Having gotten to digest this game… couple of takeaways: 1. Slowick is every bit a rookie play-caller as there is. Most rookie play-callers aren’t calling plays for teams with playoff aspirations. Even Baby Shan struggled when he first started doing it, and he trained under his Dad and Kubiak who had been doing it for decades while winning super bowls. He’s going to presumably get better at some of his tendencies, including the ability to adjust once injuries derail personnel or the opposition has picked up on something… but had the Texans known for sure what they had in Stroud (nobody thought he would be “this” good, “this” fast), and that they’d be on the cusp of securing a playoff spot, they’d probably have desired a more seasoned playcaller. Then again, Slowick undoubtedly deserves at least ‘some’ credit for where Stroud it, no? 2. NRG needs a revamp: from the countless Broncos fans to continuing to play the “bulls on parade” music for every defensive play, it was a pretty awful game environment… especially when you consider they actually won and this is one of the most exciting/youngest teams in the league. I know they’re going to change the uniforms next year… but I feel the same people in charge of the in-stadium experience are the same ones that were there 20 years ago. At that point, I couldn’t really blame the season ticket holders from getting a big return on their tickets from all the Broncos fans. Tailgating still fun… the in-game atmosphere, not so much.
The Texans have absolutely destroyed all fan goodwill the last decade. One embarrassing choice (4 coaches in 4 years) after the other, combined with constant mediocrity to outright trash. One decent half season is not gonna be enough to clean up the mess they made, not by a long shot. If they make the playoffs fans will be there...but there's simply zero trust in this franchise. I completely understand a fan that is reluctant to start to care about them again.
