    It's Schrodinger's Gazan occupation.

First an Israeli government apologist will say the Israeli government doesn't occupy Gaza. But then you tell them Israel controls their waterways, electrical grid, trade routs, airspace etc and then they shift to "Hamas forces Israel to occupy like this". So it's not an occupation until they have to defend Israel's control of Gaza.

Go back and read the earlier post you responded to. He was referring to innocent Israeli civilians.

It is somewhat disturbing that you thought he meant Palestinian civilians and then denied their innocence and said they should be put down like the dogs they are.

Also is it specifically Muslim and Arab terrorists that need to be put down like dogs?

Do other type of terrorists get put out like ducks or cats?

An IDF soldier in Jerusalem was perhaps just following normal policy of shooting an unarmed man, believed to be a terrorist, despite video showing him with with his hands in the air saying “don’t shoot”. Official investigation pending.

Family says Yuval Castleman, killed after taking out terrorists, was ‘executed’

Castelman was hit by soldier who apparently mistook him for a terrorist during Jerusalem attack, but footage shows him unarmed, with his hands in the air prior to being shot

The family of Yuval Doron Castleman, 37, who died after being shot at the scene of a terror attack in Jerusalem by a soldier who apparently mistook him for a terrorist on Friday branded his killing an “execution.”

Castleman was taken to Sha’arei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition and was declared dead shortly before midnight, what would have been his 38th birthday.

“Yuval noticed a terrorist attack from the other side of the road while driving to his job at the government complex, and stopped his car to stop the terrorists,” Channel 13 quoted his family as saying on Friday. “He had previously served in the security forces and was always a hero and the first to jump in and save lives, which he did this time as well.”

Castleman rushed at the terrorists with his firearm and fired at them before being shot at himself by soldiers who were also at the scene.

Graphic video from the scene showed Castleman throw away his gun, fall on his knees and raise his hands in the air while shouting “Don’t shoot” as the soldiers approached him. He was then shot again by one of them.

His family told Channel 13 news that his death was an “execution.”

“No one has yet spoken to us officially. We want to know exactly what happened. In the footage, you can see that he charges at the terrorists and neutralizes them, and suddenly they shoot him,” Castleman’s father, Moshe, said. “They didn’t read the situation correctly. Right now, I can’t be judgmental, what would I have done in that situation? But I want them to thoroughly investigate this and draw conclusions from the incident.”

Israeli security forces have been condemned in the past for shooting and killing terror suspects even after they have been disarmed and no longer pose a threat, in contravention of open fire orders.

Far-right lawmaker Zvi Sukkot posted a picture of one of the soldiers on social media with the caption “hero,” but later deleted it when it became clear the person shot was Israeli.

After initially saying it had no plans to investigate the incident, the IDF changed tack on Friday, saying that following the findings of an initial probe by the Shin Bet and Israel Police, it was decided that the Military Police’s investigatory unit — known in Hebrew by its acronym metzach— would also take part in the probe.

The army also said that “the IDF expresses sorrow at the death of the civilian.”

Police in a statement Friday said it was continuing to probe the attack.

Thanks for the well-articulated and courteous response. Off the bat, in case it needs to be said, the nature of my question was not to laud, but rather to measure impact on the small scale of individuals (the terrorist father vs. @AroundTheWorld). I think maybe we agree at this level that the father convincing the daughter to take action is more dangerous than one random dude on a basketball forum using parentheses.

You're absolutely right about the overarching, insidious impact of dehumanizing language on civilization as a whole. After all, the terrorist father wasn't born hating Jews.

Still, both word and action beget action, but word without action (if one could know the outcome) is harmless.

The holocaust didn’t happen. 911 was an inside job. Sandy hook didn’t happen. Oct7th was an armed conflict. Same type of behaviors.

    Cool, I get ya.

One could argue that the founding of every country, then, was wrong... Which makes none of them wrong.

The treatment of Palestinians has significantly worsened under Netenyahu, which I don't support. However, where we are now - though some of that he likely exacerbated - I do support the current operation to eliminate Hamas. They are explicitly trying to erase Jews from the face of the planet (actual genocide).

I'm devasted by the human toll of innocent Gazans from what Hamas themselves made necessary by way of their violence, yet I'm glad we've learned to take people seriously when they show and tell us they're trying to wipe us out. It didn't go so well for us when we ignored it the last time.

Ah, ok. But doesn't the involvement of Arabs in Israeli politics prove that the West Bank and Gaza policy is a security issue, and not one of race?
