After the last couple of games, I am expecting a huge game from Alperen against LAL.

Udoka’s fat foot was in his fat ass, and now he is going to go out there and kick ass.

So even though I am a big Sengun supporter, I think this is partly incorrect. FVV makes Alpi better - simply by getting him the ball in the right positions - EDIT: and helping him on defense by directing him and the troops. Nobody else does it like FVV does.

I think FVV's impact on Alpie at the defensive end is more impactful but less visible...but I agree FVV makes Alpie and the team overall better!

He thinks he is a Luis Scola type player, his ceiling is "slightly above average", he will never be an allstar, he will never improve defensively. He is good not great, he will never be a great player, and will never be a guy that can score 40 points. I can't remember the exact post but he also mentioned something about a ceiling of 15-20 ppg which I found odd considering Sengun is already past that.

I find that take a little bit cynical but hey if that's his opinion, so be it...just like the opinion, Alpie will be a TOP5 NBA player...that is a little bit ambitious but hey so be it...all those takes happen to be seen in the next 5-10 years if not earlier but I hope Alpie will be better than all our expectations...combined!

People talk about Mobley and Franz, but I wonder how Scottie Barnes would look with Jabari and Alperen. :p:D Can you imagine???

"The best way to learn from one of the players you idolize is to create a relationship with them," Green said. "Joker is a great guy. I am sure if Alpi was to reach out, Joker would be willing to talk. But that's up to Alpi to see where he wants to take his career."

Alpi's always so positive and The Joker can be deadpan-hilarious if & when he feels like it.
I'd love to see those two doing a podcast together!
    Make it happen guys!

I don’t think understand that if sengun is better then jokic, he will be a top 1-2 player ever basically. Jokic is well on pace to be top 5, he will almost certainly pass the shaq/duncan/hakeem/garnett group that’s in the 4-10 range historically. At that point it will be just jordan/lebron/sengun

Depends on him staying healthy (Jokic). He is a very heavy, lumbering human. Fingers crossed for him. (Hakeem will always be greater for me.)

I mean if his career ended today ya he would be fringe top 10, but if he has another 2-3 years at the same level he’s been he will surpass that group unquestionably into the number 4 spot, then it basically him vs kareem

I saw this stat that Jokic doesn't hold the ball very long, but yet has an incredible impact on the game.

That's one thing that people always underrate - quick, intuitively correct decision making, with high basketball IQ.

They see the "athleticism" of some players and think it represents "potential", or "ceiling".

"Oh, Sengun's ceiling is not as high as Green's, because he 'lacks the physical tools'".

That's such misguided thinking. Someone consistently making the right decisions on the court quickly will have a greater impact on success than someone just being able to jump 4 inches higher than someone else.

Ideally, you have both - think of football - your quarterback will not necessarily be the fastest or strongest guy on the team - but he better quickly and intuitively make the right calls again and again, and find the atletic/fast "muscle" guys. He's the brain, not the muscle.

Sengun, like Jokic, is the quarterback and the brain. He can feed the "athletic" guys, like Jalen.

You want to build around the brain.

Scola could have been an all star if he came to the league earlier. He was pretty damn good as a 30 something year old.
while I agree, it’s more than 4 inches… and this league is SO athletic across the board that finding significantly less athletic players with high IQ isn’t always enough. Plenty of smart players that aren’t AS athletic that have made impacts but very very few who who were so smart they could overcome the lack of athleticism to be GREAT. So it’s not surprising that scouts and fans give heavy consideration to athletic ability when estimating future impact.

Alpi is a weird athlete. He’s not always explosive but sometimes he is. Usually needs a couple steps to reach his highest. But he’ll shock you sometimes.

Jokic is incredible offensively but defensively not that good. Hakeem was really good on offense and incredible on defense. If you’re above average on both ends of the floor, I give that more value than being incredible on just one side.
