Numbers are good but they don't tell the whole story! You have to take the "Eye Test" more into account. If team "A" played 10 games and team "B" played 10 games, however team a "A" played against 6 subpar teams, while team "B" played against 2 subpar teams their +/- would only reflect how they played the last 10 games, correct? It doesnt take into account players who were out hurt, players who had an off night, head coach who got ejected, one team who played back to back vs the other team who did not or even one team who came off of playing 4 games in 7 days vs the other team who had 2 or 3 days off. The last time we played Denver, they were coming off playing 3 or 4 games in 7 days, while we were fresh, Murray was out and MPJ played horrible but Jokic still had 38 and 19. Numbers just do not tell the whole story.
The Rockets have played a hard schedule. Experts agree the Rockets are playing great defense. Alp being a big reason. Your eye test is wrong
Here's a question for you and hopefully, you're truthful. Which player would you rather have for the next 10yrs, Sengun or Jokic and why?
That’s a stupid question. Of course it’s Jokic, he’s the best player in the league by far. The problem with you Alp haters is you think anyone that supports our best young player is an only fan instead of a Rockets fan. I support all of our young players, but the best one is Alp right now. That isn’t debatable
Why is it stupid? If as though you have stated before that Alpi is just as tall as Jokic, has the same skill set, equally or more than athletic as Jokic, and he is younger than Jokic, why would you choose Jokic?
I haven’t said he’s as big as Jokic, I said he’s bigger than you keep lying about. He is more athletic than Jokic. But one is actualized and the other is potential. I like Alp, I think he has a big future with the Rockets. But he’s not Jokic and there are too many factors on if Alp reaches his full potential. Also, I’m not playing this game with you. You’re an Alp hater, I’m a rocket fan. End of story
None of them can make a franchise contender on a consistent basis, even Jokic has yet to prove if he can or not. But the Myles Tuner type is the one who can make you a contender every single season. Check out Mitchell Robinson and see for yourself.
I beg to differ, you have said on several occassions that Alpi is now 7ft, Jokic is 7ft. Additionally, you have said that he is equally as skilled as Jokic, and recently there was a video showing him and Jokic side by side making the same passes, moves on the court and everyone was saying he is BABY JOKIC. So now you are saying he is NOT Jokic and there are too many factors for him to reach that point, if ever, correct? If that's what you are saying, then I agree! Ive been saying that all along. He is NOT Jokic! He is smaller, his arms are shorter, he is not as skilled as Jokic and he is not as effect offensively. However, he is a good player and he will get better OFFENSIVELY but I just don't see it defensively. Because of Jokic's size and length he can and will effect the game in many ways that Alpi can not nor ever will.
You can beg to differ all you want. I have never said Alp was as big as Jokic. I’ve said Alp is 6’11, as he’s listed and has said per his words. It checks out. Jokic is listed undersized. Don’t put words in my mouth kiddo. And no, we won’t agree on anything. I won’t let my intellect stoop that low. You can’t understand progression or contextual scenarios. Alp is similar to Jokic in play style, I get the comps. But he’s not Jokic. He might get there, he might not. I’m happy with Alp being the best player on the team. But he has to show more growth too, just like every young pillar we have
hahahaha. I’m beginning to get your sarcastic trolling. He is laughing at fan only boys. You had me thinking you were a real troll.
Oh, now Jokic is listed undersize, thats a first. Well if you think Alpi will ever reach Jokic's level, your intellect is low. Sabonis but not Jokic.
Fact of the matter is season by season Alpi is on pace to be as good as Jokic. There are things Jokic can do the he can't but the opposite is true too. Sengun is significantly faster, jumps higher and is more agile than Jokic. Of course it's very optimistic to see him ending up as good as the best player in the NBA but the comparison at the same age is valid imo. Sengun only just linked up with a great coach, there's plenty more development to come. I think it's reasonable Ime turns him into an even better defender in a couple of years. Shooting seems to be improving regularly. Legitimately great prospect.
I love him too, but I think it is inconceivable for him to get to jokic’s level. Jokic has one thing that Alpi will never have in that huge immovable body and tremendous wing span. Jokic is Shaq with an outside shot, ft%, best passing big man in the history of the game. Like Shaq he is virtually unstoppable in the post.
None of that matters, believe it or not, when Jalen challenges Kobe and Jordan statistically and stylistically... I know most of you don't get what that means, but when I check all the boxes for who can be a HoF superstar, Jalen checks all the boxes. It's a bonus when he has a complementary piece like Rodman... Here comes our Rodman: Jabari Smith Jr.
Says the dumbest person on this forum. You are wrong literally all of the time. That’s a good thing for Alp
You all forget, Jokic's first couple of years he shared the center position with Nurkic. So his numbers were skewed. That's why I continue to say, you can not look at numbers as the whole story. Also, I agree Sengun was hampered by Silas' coaching. But on the same token, Sengun has been playing professionally since he was 14, 15? He has been getting professional coaching for a while now. Unlike Hakeem who started late. Im not saying Sengun can not get better but at what phases of his game? I tend to think more offensively, than defensively. Rarely, if ever have I seen an offensive first player develop into an above avg defensive player. And I think that's what he would have to develop into for the Rockets to win a championship.
