It's a question of him being really good natured and having a bad coach for the first three seasons. He's very young still. Keep in mind that MJ was drafted at the age he is right now. I don't think people fully become the man they will be until 23-27 with a few rare exceptions.
You have to ask yourself, how would the Black Mumble look on Golden State, Celtics, or any team with a ton of talent around him. I think we would see a different Jalen. And, as I mentioned, MJ was drafted at the age he is now. There's no telling what will happen with Jalen in the next 3-5 years. I trust Ime and I trust Jalen. This is Jalen's first year getting the proper coaching on his overall game. He's easily a top 10 SG in the league for the next 5 years, so I think all of y'all expecting him to be the best SG in the league should just relax. Maybe he will get there. If not, having a top 10 SG from the 2nd pick in the draft is not a bad get.
Good call......basically he has other skills, like he goes more for the dunk while Fox would go for the layup or dribble around..... The speed and their willingness to shoot is what they got in common. Devil is in the details though. Some people are better at using the same skill than others. For example Green is responding to scoring 19 points in a hurry with 6 or 7 points the rest of the way. Another player would just keep on scoring more.....that is the difference.
Racist remark, reported. Another discriminatory act against the Franchise #4 Jalen deserves a better fanbase for sure...
Haha, that name came to me one night while watching his post game interview. I decided to make it stick, if anything, just in my little world.
Although he still has time the more and more I see I think Sengun is the #1 and hopefully Jalen can find some consistency and be a good #2 option off Sengun. Theres still alot of talent around those two also. I just haven't see as much " dog " in Jalen as you would have hoped.
You'd have to be blind not to see the DAWG in him...Ime won't let him unleash himself. Do you remember how Silas used to give him all the freedom he could? In every game, there was a burning passion that Jalen gave off on the court... Now we are the guilty ones. I want old Jalen back...
Rockets hedged their bets with Jalen Green, by drafting Cam Whitmore. I am starting to think that Jalen may be just a solid scorer, but not the offensive focus or face of a franchise. He has amazing games then other games he lays what seem like goose eggs. I am very impressed how Sengun has literally taken the team by the horns and declared himself with his play as the face of the franchise. Segune is playing elite or steady good each and every game. Hence Sengun is probably the closest thing to being the franchise player on the roster; now it is just a question if he can sustain and improve his numbers to get into MVP discussion realms eventually. At this stage in his development, Green is vying for the #3 spot. Because Jabari Smith is going to be Pippen’esque; Jabari will eventually be a multiple All-star while accepting being the #2 and thriving.
Let Jabari have a game where he has over 5 assists once in his career before you compare him to Pippen, a NBA player who played full time Point Guard for long stretches. As much as you hate Green, Jabari has a hard limit that Green doesn't and that hard limit is based in self creation and playmaking. Give Smith Jr a clear out and the ball in the mid post and he's real effective because in that scenario he's not navigating through traffic trying to create for others. He doesn't have to put the ball down on the floor in that situation to score. He has that fluid turnaround jumper that is hard to block and doesn't require dribble separation. It's hard to be a primary creator on offense of that is the extent of your offense.
i'm not sure i've ever seen a 21 year old who just put up 26-6-9 on 8/12 shooting be disrespected and lamented as much as Jalen. Devin Booker averaged 24.9 points, 4.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 54 games in his 3rd season. In that same season Suns record was 16-38 in games he played. ah yes. it's super easy. just keep scoring! why didn't we think of that. it's not like the other team has a coaching staff that could make adjustments....
You also rarely see a guy gifted a starting spot and averaging 33-34 minutes per game his rookie and sophomore season. So what....he is being benched in his 3rd Year by a better coach? And only benched a Quarter..... You do see the nuances of how much points he generated through midrange.......at least he has a real go to move.... It is the consistent weapon with which you score.....not inflated numbers because Silas gives you the Green light.
