I get that the Republican aversion to a public hearing might not be wholly sincere. But, it's a subpoena and I expect Hunter and any good citizen to go and be deposed in whatever setting the House has decided upon.

LOL... these goofs. The loan was between family members. I loaned my late brother money all the time. Never thought about charging interest... and most times, I didn't even expect the loan to be repaid. But hey, maybe maga families likes smith's work differently.
Agreed. But, moving money between family members is also a pretty common way to avoid accountability, like a tax liability, a hit to your credit score, or a financial disclosure for some application. Right now I'm trying to paint myself as poor as possible to maximize financial aid for my kids going to college. It's a way to have your cake and eat it too. And I think the Bidens probably are engaging in some of that financial sleight of hand and Comer is pursuing an intuition that he can expose that sleight of hand, paint it sinister, and get that gotcha moment.
