He was too passive in the second half/4th quarter for sure. Learning to pick his spots has been an issue all season as he's adjusted to Udoka's offense, it's not gonna suddenly rectify less than 20 games in. I think both he and Jabari need to be a little more aggressive especially in that 4th quarter.

The name calling in this thread was pretty hilarious lol.

I'm giving Green 4 yrs till he is 25 to decide. I know people scoff at that but the reality is that's the time people reach their peaks and that's the age they start winning rings. With players it's hard to predict what age they will break out but at 25 that's when you have a clear picture of how good a player can be.

If Jalen becomes more aggressive, Ime is concerned that the Jalen of the past - filled with passion - will resurface. Therefore, his strategy is to slow Jalen down and instead focus on featuring a player who has been falsely elevated by PR propaganda and misleading statistics.

This is a lot of words to say “I’m not actually watching the games but I think Jalen is the best player on the team.”

Yes, have a little patience please. Jalen has been improving steadily as evidenced by his recent 34-point performance against the Grizzlies. However, if he were not doing that, is there anyone else capable of saving our franchise? Unfortunately, I have not seen much appreciation for him this season. All talk seems to revolve around Shingin...

    Painful moments for our fanbase.

Jalen is a superstar. When he is guarded by John Konchar.

Luka does nothing for me. I saw better Luka for a decade. It doesn't win. Taking stupid stepback shots over and over again. That team is destined to fail. Jalen should look at Shai. Efficient. Smart. Doesn't take dumb shots. Jalen at 28 PPG on Shai's efficiency is a championship level player. And Shai is wirey too. Not exactly built like Anthony Edwards.

What can Shinjin do when guarded by Sabonis or Jokic? He struggles to both score and defend. Is it fair to even compare him to those two?

Meanwhile, JG just scored 25 points against Jokic.

Jalen doesn't need to waste his time looking at average players like Shai. His goal is to become a HoF, so in my opinion, Shai is a low bar to live up to.

Why hasn't our franchise given Jalen the same opportunities as Shai? That's where I see the problem.

I like Jalen Green the dude. he has a fun and enthusiastic personality.
Jalen Green the player just needs to figure out and accept his role.
I don’t think he will be that superstar type player but that’s fine.

We don't have 4 more years to make a contract decision on him.

A lot of folks around here barely give him till his next game to look like superstar material.

    A realist at last :)

Shai isn't the superstar a lot of media seem to think he is but he is minimum an All Star level player. And way above "average". He is maximizing his skill set which is something Jalen needs to to learn to do. Jalen runs into a gaggle of defenders and throws up a stupid shot like 2x a game still. That number should be zero. Sengun by contrast no longer goes for the stupid defensive gambles or highlight reel passes. He just does the smart play. Jalen needs to drive more intelligently. And faster. The longer he takes to make a decision, the easier it is on the defense to defend. This is where Ime's slow style isn't really helping him. Ime has to figure this out as much as Jalen does.

Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum fit beautifully into Ime's style because they're slow AF. Jalen isn't. Neither is Amen who's waiting in the wings. We need to figure out a way to marry Jalen/Amen's breakneck speed with Sengun/Jabari's methodical halfcourt style. I think Jalen is suffering a bit to figure out his place in this system.

We made the decision last year, and Jalen is well aware of that decision.

The weird thing is, we didn't fully turn the keys over to him. All of this is causing confusion and diminishing his passion for our franchise and our fan base.

The Harden Luka archetype is not great, but it can win if you pair him up with a greater player than Irving......

but who is Jalen at 28 ppg and efficiency, I must have read something there.....

I am among those that do not think efficiency matters as much as matchup issues......

Kobe was not efficient.....I do not think the Billups' Pistons were that efficient, they just clamped down on total Defense.

You can still win it without total dominance on efficiency level.
