Being a winning player is whats important. And he is doing exactly whats needed to become one. He's making better passes. He's playing hard defense. He's sacrificing his own "stats" by not shot hunting or going iso.

He needs to find a way to be more efficient. FTs is the easiest way for him to achieve that rn. I want to see more down hill aggression.

We just didn't play good enough as a team to get the win. In the first three quarters we usually move the ball pretty good. Then in the fourth quarter, we seem to want to go to one on one a lot and take quick shots.

    The rotations suck as well.

Who's better player between Jalen Green and JR Smith?

    I select JR Smith.

If I were Stone and the option were on the table I would have a hard time saying no to a deal of Jalen, this years BKN pick (Probably Top 8) and the '26 BKN pick and filler for Mikal Bridges. I think Bridges alongside VanVleet, Brooks, Jabari and Sengun would make one hell of a 2-way lineup.

The lack of consistency and go to scoring plays he can make in a pinch really does separate him out of the class of starting scoring guard that we need to feel confident in extending him to the max.

Statistically though the guy looks like he’s on course to be a Sprewell, Jason Richardson, Michael Finley type of career… but when you watch him play the consistency and unreliability shows more than his stats would lead you to believe.

Again as I’ve said, give it to the end of Dec… then if he hasn’t turned a corner I do explore trades BUT I’d be picky as hell. I’d rather just risk RFA down the line than give him up for anything less than a premium given how much we need his scoring bursts even as inconsistent as they are. When he does get it going, it’s crazy how fast we jump up to a double digit lead.

These three guys were MUC, MUCH better defensive players...
What do you mean picky: Jordan Clarkson, Colin Sexton, Alec Burks may be obtainable options. Does any of those work for you?

He is a good player but Sengün played much better this season.

You do not need to know...... theoretically it is devoid of any tastes as all nutrients were extracted.

The point that keeps getting missed is we dont know what kind of player Jalen Green will be.
And all the folks that seem to think they do are bipolar knee jerkers.

The thread was about leader and franchise guy.....it is very easy.....I have no problem with him as a 2nd option...or anything else.

    3 things.....in no particular sequence.

    • He will always be just a tad weaker body and his height is mediocre for his position.
    • He has tendencies to vanish from the face of the earth.
    • He will never be vocal enough.....his voice is not something that people easily follow.

I've been fairly consistent when it comes to Jalen Green ... I didn't want him on draft day (Scottie Barnes), been consistent in that I don't think he ever develops into "star".

I'm firmly in team "It's time to move on."

He's a plus athlete that doesn't do anything at a high level on the court.

    Mediocre shooter at best.
    Poor finisher at the rim.
    Average FT%.
    Poor defender.
    Mediocre rebounder.
    Mediocre ball handler.
    Mediocre passer.
But he can jump over the backboard .... great.

Its fine to speak of him in the present tense. He was great. He was terrible, whatever.

Sorry, I am just in a foul mood tonight. Ignore anything I have to say.

No problem, I understand.....I am just stating the obvious, if you substract Dillon and Fred, Alpe and Jalen have to lead.....what I meant.

Dillon and FVV are obviously not the future in the sense of 5 years later.
