For the first time this season, he played against an opponent who took precautions completely against him. He probably wasn't ready for this, but he'd better get used to it. Because from now on, most games will be like this. Also, I don't know what's going on with his back pain and his ankle, but I'm hoping he gets better than that. Even on his worst day, he still did a good job defensively.

Almost unbelievable improvement from Alpi to be that high--although DRTG is highly affected by team environment so I think he is being covered for to some degree since he's now surrounded by good defensive players. Nevertheless, he has clearly taken a big leap defensively.

I dunno how y'all come up with this type of analysis. Memphis literally started 3 bigs. JJJ was their sf. The game plan was to pack the paint and make the Rockets beat them from the perimeter. Which means to take Sengun out of the paint. It worked for one half. But what did you really want Sengun to do in this game? Force up shots in 3 guys?

Yes Aldama and JJJ were on his ass all night but he missed very easy hooks.that he usually makes and missed that weird jumpshot he was making in the other games. Also that missed layup (Aldama was guarding him) was terrible. He was objectively bad on offense.

Very few Rockets have been as fun to watch as Sengun. Just an awesome player that we are lucky to have

I wonder what the three or four idiots, who come to the forum to leave messages every time the Rockets lose or Jalen has a bad game, would be saying if instead of Jalen (and Sengun) the Rockets had selected Mobley.

Yeah, we should never hear about Mobley again. Alpi is looking like the best player from the 2021 draft.

Or maybe his defense wasn't that bad in the first place and he was being scape goated.
