That tweet is both true and hilarious because it points out just how bad the previous staff was.. Silas deliberately kept the ball out of his best players hands while forcing into lesser players hands.
For a while i thought Orlando was stupid enough to pass on Chet and Paolo for Jabari. I was pumped about that draft until the right before when all the reports came out. Somebody over there made the right call. I still think Jabari can be a really good players, bit Paolo or Chet would have been better picks.
I do not know which scout but he severely overrated shooting and quickness on Perimeter Defense. Who drafts Number 1 because of Perimeter Defense, that is the most unheard of thing!!
ESPN’s Zach Lowe sees Alperen Sengun making All-Star push for Rockets Sengun has been incredible. Sengun might make the All-Star team this year, by the way. All last year, I was saying, the lowest hanging fruit on this team is just give Sengun the damn ball. Just give him the ball, let him run the offense through the elbows, post him up. Despite getting two high-usage, ball-handling guards in Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks — who likes to shoot — they’ve done that, and it’s worked. https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/20...them&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
I think Chet is already better than Banchero. If he can stay healthy he is a superstar. Banchero is a good player, but Jabari could end up being better. Jabari already had better stats in most categories than Banchero last year and had a terrible coach. It’ll be a few years before we know who is the better of the two, but I don’t see superstar status for either of them. I think they both will be really good for many years.
If someone on the Magic is scoring over 21 ppg it is Banchero. Franz seems to defer too much and Cole Anthony is not starting. They have done the same thing as the Rockets and became defensive minded .....therefore sacrificing possessions. Banchero and Franz had to get used to that tactical change.
Banchero has no post game and oddly enough less defensive awareness. A year ago I would've agreed with this but Sengun is a prodigy. I don't think anyone can deny it at this point.
I agree. Me and @Verbal Christ had quite a few of these discussions. I still think Paolo is a stud but I think Chet has a higher ceiling. Jabari has a higher floor. I think Alp is better than all of them currently. There’s quite a bit of talent in the front court across the league
Oh, a few idiots are digging their heels in and still denying it. Great source of ridicule entertainment
Chet is balling out. He is efficiency MANIFEST. He eliminates defensive mistakes. 70% TS/46% from 3/ 90% FT is absurd. He's even dishing about 3 assists per game. I might even like his game more than Wemby right now. Chet would be feasting on this Rockets team compared to the output of Jabari Smith and even further to think Jabari has some sort of leg up NOW or in the future over Paolo is just projections gone wild. Lets not confuse what Paolo brings to the game as a table setter for his team. He has been nails for Orlando so far this year tasked with way more than just high level support play. Paolo is not a "post" player by any means.
