U figured that some of the die hard sengunatics witness first hand how much fkery silas and the kpj offense did to sengun development as a nba player would have more of an understanding that Jalen went through the same sht and should get the benefit of the doubt that he can reach another level under ime. Nah trade green cause he "sucks" and isn't it. Astounding.
Sengun was actually good though, there was no need for those excuses. You know, because good players are good and bad players rely on excuses to cover up the fact that they are bad.
I guarantee you that Sengun's next contract will be a max contract. If not with the Rockets, then somewhere else.
Sht coaching and lack of vets plus an actual pg matters. Sengun played for an actual professional team before so he was able to overcome it easier. It's not that complicated, but u gotta push that narrative that bad players are bad not bc talented players can get fked over by a bad situation. Sengun is like an exception which is why folks are so high on him. If your precious Mobley was with us during the silas and head honcho era he would have look like sht also.
He's looked awesome this year, very encouraging. Odds are always extremely against anyone becoming a true franchise player, since there's so few but at this point you gotta say he has a chance
You say this, but Sengun was good from day 1....and he was the youngest guy on the team. Your excuses are only needed for certain players who were and still are trash. On top of that, Silas was actively trying to sabotage Sengun while doing everything possible to push Jalen Green.....and Sengun was still good and Jalen was still trash. Sorry, but your guy had every advantage, he just wasn't good.
Yes, he is playing well and he has improved some defensively but its not good enough. If you're bad at something and improve somewhat. It just makes you average, correct? And that is how I see Sengun. He's an average defender. And I think Ime see him as that too, that's why he subbed him out at the end of the game. Im not saying he is not good, I think he is but he's not a MAX PLAYER and neither is Jalen
I prefer to call it a disagreement of opinions, calling someone ignorant just because you disagree with them is well.....IGNORANT
Yes, he is a decent defender and he is excellent offensively. Mention 3 other players the same age that are better than Sengun currently. You won't be able to, the guy is a MAX player. Houston gave 29 year old FVV a max contract and here you are claiming that Sengun won't be getting it.
Sengun is now 21 years old and still has a 2-year contract. If he gets the max extension, he will get it when he is 23. A player who averaged 20/8/6 when he is just 21, I wonder how will things go when he is 23 and I have no doubt that he will get a max contract (in the Rockets or another franchise). We'll see if he becomes a franchise player until he's 23. It's still too early to talk. If he stays at these numbers, he will get the max contract. Being a franchise player and getting a max contract are two different things. Sengun was not the reason why the game was lost last night. However, if you are scapegoating him for the loss because he could not dominate Zubac in the ending and could not defend Harden, one of the best PnR players in this game, I have nothing to say. I think he did his best. He just tried too much in the ending because there was no any player to try to win but Sengun. This brought mistakes. But he had to do this. Especially if other parts of the team fail.
Alpi is a big time baller. I expect him to continue improving throughout the season. We haven't seen his limits on offense or defense yet IMO.
Sengun is 21yrs old, so I'll give you two players that are 21 yrs old too, that I would rather have besides Sengun; Palo Banchero and Chet Homegren.
He is not excellent offensively, he's good offensively but not excellent. Similar to Luis Scola. To me excellent is Luka, Steph, or Trae Young. Sengun is an excellent passer but he's avg to good both offensively and defensively.
Luis Scola was doing what he does when he was 30 years old. If you say Chet is better than him, I think you should wait until these guys meet.
Scola was 27 when he joined the NBA. He was already a mature, fully developed player. He and Alpi play different positions and play NOTHING like each other. Alpi is a focus of the offense and a playmaker. Scola played off Yao and McGrady. Alpi wil be far better than Scola when he is 27.
So James Harden was/is not a max player, right? LBJ lost in the finals, he is not a max player, right? Curry is too small and can't defend ****; he is not a max player, right? I am not comparing anyone to anyone and mostly and ironically, I agree with you but I don't agree with your motivations to say that?
