Speaking of BS calls, I don’t understand the 2nd fumble. Like his arm was moving forward, but even if you want to call it a fumble, he was being tackled by 2 ppl and then a 3rd guy came in and hit helmet to helmet. AND THEY REVIEWED THIS. How is this not talked about more? Ridiculous considering they crucified Perryman for hitting Chase when he was starting to slide.. I didn’t see it live so I didn’t know it was that bad but just watched again and wow.

Edit: and then later, Burrow is getting sacked by Rankin on a second effort and he fumbled but they just blew it dead and called it a sack. I think they recovered it anyways, but still ridiculous to protect burrow like that and screw Stroud in the same breath.

Agreed. CJ arm was clearly going forward. Hell even the ref on on the broadcast said that wasn’t a fumble.

I gotta be honest, the love CJ is getting currently is almost overwhelming and overbearing…and I want MORE! I am loving all of this.

Shady McCoy mentioned this on Speak which is something that shouldn’t go unnoticed and unspoken…he’s only going to get better. With everything he’s doing and showing, he’s just a 22 year old rookie who is prone to make small rookie mistakes here and there. The arrow is pointing straight up

So I'd have to risk $100 for a chance at $2500 for MVP or $40,000 to win $2500 for ROY.

Not yet. Watt is still the franchise goat. CJ still has a ways to go before that

I watched a lot of Andrew Luck games. We went to the same high school, but I’m way older. So I watched a few of his high school games. Then I watched several of his college games because of that. Then I watched many of his NFL games because he is in the same division. Luck was a fantastic QB. I can say without a doubt that Stroud is better.

I watched him a lot at Stanford. There was far too much hype on him. IMO, his greatest strength was the ability to bounce back after throwing terrible interceptions. He was never an elite passer, but his mix of physicality, athleticism along with his passing was a great combination.

It's too bad the Colts ran him into the ground. I'm happy he left the NFL on his own terms.

I agree with everything you said; however, I hate the saying, "he's only going to get better." The league has a long history of players who flash and then don't get better or even fall off a cliff. It's almost like putting a curse on them.

The Qb School review of Stroud and the offense for WK 10 is sick.

Calls Stroud a Top 5 QB right now:
Mentions how great his mechanics are, his anticipation, processing, and is very underrated athletically.
Tytus Howard is not very good at guard
    Slowik's design is next level
Dell and Woods are good in the run game. Metchie struggled.
    Singletary tons of wiggle
    Schultz fantastic route runner
Lots of drops by Texans WR's

On the INT- Dell faded on his route as compared to keeping his run straight down the line. Dell runs a straight line and there is no pick, but maybe no completion.

    Very Very Interesting review.

Sorry, don't really care since it's behind patreon. I'm sure it's awesome.

This ball, he throws to Woods. It actually hits him in the hands and he doesn't catch it because he never looked. It was an absolutely wild throw with the end having a free shot at CJ. Woods, as you can see is behind a defender in the route but CJ recognized the defenders leverage and processed that he wasn't a threat for a pick.

ZERO Panic, super poised despite him about to take a huge shot from an end closing in to his right.

This is why he is Elite.

I watched a couple of Earl Campbell High School games because my parents graduated from Tyler John Tyler HS. But I can't say I ever saw better at any level before he wore down in about his 5th or 6th year in the NFL.

However; I acknowledge there were other backs who had followings with similar support such as Jim Brown, Gayle Sayers and Barry Sanders. There have been others since he retired, but I never really paid attention to other teams.

Yep. Didn't want to rain on the parade. But as much fun as this is... I can't shake the idea it's all an illusion. I don't *think* it is - the sample is growing too big - but the idea that this is what the rest of CJ's career will look like is.... too good to be true for me right now.

My younger brothers went to Stratford when Luck was there and I was living in the Katy area at the time when Andy Dalton was doing his thing at Katy High. I can remember a fun game between these two guys at old Tully Stadium that left no doubt that these young men would play on Sundays.

CJ is quite literally the best rookie QB in NFL history. Hard to position anyone else on his tier for year 1. If he can maintain this level of play for an extended time he could go down as one of the GOATS. I cant hardly believe Im typing this either, but what we are witnessing is THAT special.

That's called Houston Fan Syndrome. When something is too good to be true because of our conditioning. :D
