It depends upon how we do on the road, TBH.

I think so. It’s not like they are just hot. They are playing defense. Time will tell.

We need more road games to test our mettle but defense travels and we definitely play defense. I’d say we’re in the playoffs if Brooks and Fred stay relatively healthy.

Why would you name your podcast/web program "no dunks"

I would name mine "Lotsa Dunks" and get more subscribers.

    dunks are good actually!

Just a reminder for those getting too excited... The Kings, Lakers, and Nuggets have all been missing their 2nd best player respectively.

so what. Rockets, last year, would have lost every single game with all their players out. the fact that these teams need to be full strength to play the rockets makes me happy. I'm excited.

I believe we are all excited, just cautious to see how good we really are. We still have to see how we are on the road, vs teams at full strength. Its something to mention, to keep an eye on.

never forget how bad the Rockets were last year. Just being a competent team should have been the bar. we are already ahead of schedule playing defense and running an offense.

Nothing wrong with being excited, just a warning to temper expectations in thinking we are already a playoffs contender.

You know it's all coming down when Eddie Johnson and Justin Termine say they're one of the 2 most surprising teams in the NBA this year and have a segment dedicated to them. I about fell over. Of course Johnson, as usual, couldn't go full-on liking the Rockets and put them as the 2nd most surprising behind ... the Mavs. Yes, the team that basically got fined $750,000 for deciding to tank last year instead of making the playoffs, which they should have - those are the most surprising to him. The Rockets blew out the Kings and Lakers - so unless Chris Webber and Shaquille O'Neal were suiting up, the Rockets win those games.

The point about the Nuggets is valid, having Murray helps the Nuggets - but what was the Nuggets record heading into the game against the Rockets?

I had this as a 30-35 win team entering the season, with the Rockets winning a lot of those games in the second half when a quarter of the league tanks. I think right now they can hopefully push for .500%. Remember, the Rockets won like 4-5 in a row after Harden sat out with Silas before ******** the bed again.

I don't see this being a 30-win team though, based on the high quality of coaching and effort, this is a close to .500% team even with a nasty amount of parity.

Fair enough, but even if it seems the opposite at first, those kind of questions are aiming at finding the roof of the team. Not to take anything from a 6 game win streak we are all enjoying.

You don't think that Fox or Davis could have scored 20-30 points or that Davis could have significantly influenced our own offense with his defense? Their presence would have made our own D tired trying to contain them. Not saying we would have lost, but we easily could have.
