Was feeling like crap with a low grade fever and chills. Tested for COVID out of an abundance of caution and came up negative. I'm supposed to play a show tomorrow night so that would've really sucked if I came up positive. Would've had to sit out the show.
Final and very unfortunate and sad update: He passed over the weekend. They ended up venting him but that only extended his life for about 3 days. Doctors are still baffled to have seen a case that severe (worst they had seen since 2020), especially considering he was a vaxxed and boosted man in perfect health, with no other conditions or co-morbidities. Just a weird, tragic, random thing to happen.
That’s hard to hear. How old was he? I’m over 60 now and I’m very cautious and stay up to date on my vaccines. I’ve had the Covid vaccine like 5 times now.
Awful news Sura may he RIP. Covid isn't a joke, even though some would have you believe it is.....it may not have a SUPER high death rate, but if it hits your family you know. DD
He was 61. Not sure what he could've done differently, at the onset of symptoms he was prescribed Paxlovid and finished it, felt 100% better. 2 days later the symptoms returned with a vengeance. I have been reading about "Covid rebound" that can occur very rarely after a patient finishes Paxlovid, but even in those cases the symptoms of the rebound are minor.
Hey rj, how long did this last? Something incredibly similar started for me last night, but I'm testing COVID antigen negative. Hope this is just a 24-hour bug or something.
The last 3~ weeks have been absolute dogcrap in this house. Oct 21 - kid #1 barfs, 24 hour tummy bug Oct 28 - kid #2 barfs, same tummy bug, only it leads to 2 weeks of horrid white diarrhea that lands them in the ER Oct 30 - wife loses voice, general head cold (particularly bad because her band has to cancel shows & auditions) Nov 1 - kid #1 has ear infection Nov 4 - donny gets horrendous chest cold (just now getting over it) Nov 10 - donny now has double ear infection (wtf) Nov 11 - wife now has nausea, chills, and neck stiffness Nov 12 - kid #1 turns up with 103 fever, cough, vomitting No covid, all flu negative... no idea what god we pissed off to incur such a wrath...
I feel like almost everyone I know has something right now. For me it's just congestion...I don't feel bad really...but can't really get rid of it, and I don't normally have allergy issues.
Looks like we're riding the 8th wave right now. Models have the US at 1 million per day by mid-December. By Thanksgiving Day, there's about a 15% chance that any gathering of 10 people will have at least one infectious person.
