It's an open war of Islam vs. Western values.

No Settlement isn't a justifiable reason to kill innocent people.

But the settlements are wrong and is ethnic cleansing.

Hamas needs to be destroyed. But let's not forget those settlements should be removed entirely.

This was a fantastic piece. It provides some background, and shows the dishonest approach many take when discussing this issue.

"The amount of time, resources, and risk that the IDF is taking to evacuate innocent civilians of Gaza is unheard of and unparalleled."

    No it isn't.

"And guess what. Contrary to popular belief, the IDF is not doing it to improve Israel’s public image."

The IDF is doing it because the USA demanded it and because when officials for the IDF spoke honestly about the death of Palestinians to the media, the media responded very negatively.

"It is pretty clear to all Israelis, that if the world does not stand by Israel after the events of October 7, the world will never stand by Israel."

Okay? I guess we should just forget all the stuff that happened before 10/7?

"The reason the IDF is doing this is simple. The IDF has always been and will always be the most moral army in the world, by a huge margin."

Okay? Based on what exactly? History says otherwise.

"Israel continues to open up humanitarian corridors in Gaza, while Hamas continues to open fire, both on Israeli soldiers, and on innocent civilians trying to evacuate."

This is true - Hamas is a terrorist organization. You really should be asking why your government supported Hamas in an effort to undermine the authority of the more moderate Abbas.

"Israel does everything it can to minimize civilian deaths on both sides."

Since the USA told Israel to knock it off? Yeah - it appears so.

"Hamas does everything it can to maximize civilian deaths on both sides."

Nah, Hamas could be killing more civilians if it wanted to - but I agree that Hamas cares more about its "plan" than the people of Palestine or Israel.

"If you make an equal sign between the IDF and Hamas, you are a dishonest bigot who is part of the problem. Kapeesh?"

I don't know a lot of people that equate Hamas to Israel. I am sure there are people that do, which is foolish. I will say though that what Israel has done to the Palestinian people for over half a century is wrong and shouldn't be overlooked.

Well, what do they prioritize when teaching children in their schools? Algebra or Israel and Jew hate? Therein might lie part of the answer for a high poverty rate and a high unemployment rate.

Indeed. Just like most prisons in the United States. You should see the pedal boat rides at San Quentin. Gorgeous.

Education in the occupied territory is actually surprisingly good all things considered. They have almost 100% literacy rate among children, and overall they score fairly well on testing compared to other nations in a similar economic situation.

However, it is true that some of the text books in the occupied territory do things like remove Israel from the map, or teach that Israel is occupying the region. It is a reflection of the larger issues between Palestine and Israel.

There is no doubt that a hatred for Israel is extremely common in Palestine. I know for example that Palestinians that would work in Israel in the past would be harassed and beaten.

From the perspective of the Palestinians their homeland was taken from them and they are dominated by Jews.
