Tari being back and Unc playing 10 yrs younger really helps. Holiday has been a calming presence too.
Logic? Illogical is treating players differently based on their draft position and not actual production.
Obviously the >3 minutes is the caveat, I'd think that goes without saying. Nevertheless the 225 is still outstanding particularly in a game like that.
Tari being back helps unquestionably but I don't know if the Jeff Green situation is sustainable. Size and athleticism in the center rotation is still a top level need.
I watched the game. Alpi and Jokic when matched up canceled each other out. Alpi held his own. Landale basically couldn't guard Jokic at all. He got like 8-10 points dropped on him in three mlnutes, couldn't really contribute anything offensively, and then got pulled, hence his terrible +/-.
See my post above with the ratings for denver starting 5. It really doesn't matter how much joker scored. their rating was horrible compared to their previous performance.
Yes, a better backup than Landale, someone with size and a focus on rim protection would be useful. Maybe if we could trade for Capela to back up Alpi.
Not only does that assertion lack context it is also more fanciful than fact. The immutable fact is some of you are determined to make Silas a monster regardless.
I just got through watching that a few minutes ago. These guys up until recently didnt give the Rockets the time of day. Now, their last two vids have had a short acknowledgment to what the Rockets are doing. A real turnaround for these guys. And yea, I was angry at first about the Lopez drama, but now, I am kinda glad it didnt happen.
I don’t think Silas is a monster. I’m on record multiple times stating my support for him as a person. But………he is an absolutely terrible coach and judge of talent. That isn’t debatable. Sengun has clearly been the best young player in the Rockets since he was drafted and has continuously been held to a different standard than those drafted higher than him. He wasn’t given any free passes like the others. If you can’t objectively see that, then I don’t know what to tell you. It’s pretty obvious
There is no obvious solution...but unfortunately that doesn't diminish the need. My hope is the job Ime and Stone have done in identifying unheralded talent to address specific needs like Brooks, VanVleet, and (almost) Lopez will extend to finding an undervalued big somewhere who, at a minimum, can contribute more that Landale has so far. Of course there is still the possibility that Landale will eventually round into form but that hope diminishes by the day.
