I'm just going to do my due diligence. It might not work but for the culture. DD hates Sengun and Jalen now Sengun and Jalen are the best Rockets players we're rooting for you Cam.
I love the potential of the guy so much that I was advocating for him with our first pick, but if I'm being honest I see the same thing you do. He needs to learn to be more unselfish, and that's not even really the right word, more team oriented maybe. I think he will get there, but then again he might not. G League should be good for him.
There were some passing highlights in the second game, lol i need to see some defense highlights too. even if Cam is shooting well, he is not taking anyone's spot if he cant play Ime defense.
7/18 from the field and 19 points, at least one of those was a garbage time score. Not encouraging. That's encouraging. 5/13 from 3 38% on high volume is good. 25 points on 20 shots not too crazy but is efficient. +3 assists and +3 steals, that's the encouraging part. G league is the right place for him.
Cut Cam some slack, he is too young he is only 19 and even missed part of college with an injury. I think both him and Amen need a season of GLeague to get their reps and work on their game.
No hate just curiousity - I did find out though the the Gleague is shooting 1 FT for 2 and 3 points sometimes. DD
I don't feel like Amen is in the same category. They are both physically imposing at the guard position but Amen plays team ball. He is a defender and distributor, I think by order of operations that fits Ime's plan more than volume scorer (Cam) does. Furthermore, this team does not lack for scorers. The whole starting 5 has a 20 point game in them on any given night. If Amen is able to re-establish himself sooner than later I'll buy his ability throw in 15 points off the bench from hustle, defense, transition and shooting. The reason Cam is in the GL is because there isn't 20 shots for him with this club. He's not effective without the volume. Amen doesn't need shots to be effective.
Agreed. Amen will be back out there when he gets healthy. He’s got sky high potential and can help us out this year with defense, rebounding, passing, scoring, etc.
You unjinxed everybody. Jermaine Samuels put up 38. Darius Days had 25. Nate Hinton had a triple double and 4 steals to go with it.
It is. lol. I was watching some of the first game and it looked like summer league garbage for the most part. I haven't watched the second game yet, but from the highlights, it's like Cam was walking to the goal for some of those dunks - no resistance. I can't wait to see how Jermaine Samuels put up almost 40.
IIRC in the past, the Vipers would run similar offensive/defensive schemes as the Rockets, so that players that get called up would be better prepared. I hope they're still doing that, or they at least have someone working specifically with Whitmore. If not, G League may not help much to further Whitmore's game.
