It's rhetorical low-hanging fruit to criticize him for taking the weekend before there next self-inflictef calamity. But to be real, no deal will be made until the night of the shutdown. It doesn't matter how much work you put in ahead of time, the compromise will only be made at the deadline. That's not just congress but many, many negotiation situations. So why sweat it 8 days out?
That may be the case, but typically THERE IS A PLAN (to avoid the shutdown) ahead of time with a number of options to choose from or derivatives of those options. I'm thinking there is a decent chance there is no plan this time since shutdown is a desired outcome for MAGA.
