Dude this team has a 20 pt differential in a 4 game span. It's not just the four game win streak. It's the utter domination of teams.

I couldn't ever dream of that happening in the past couple of seasons regardless of it was against 4 bottom feeders or four contenders.

And let's not act like the teams the Rockets faced didn't still have star guys still playing. This was done against Lebron and Sabonis. A Foxless Kings doesn't account for 30+ deficit.

And understand the level of excitement. We aren't saying the Rockets are going to be a 50 win team. It's just that these 4 games showed that 30 game win predictions are now at the very low end of projections now instead of "mid" projection that was believed before the season started.

There's no real reason to reset the expectation during every winning or losing streak. I'm generally an optimist and always thought we could make the play-in this year. You can't let the doomers run wild when we're losing and gloating like they want to throw an "I told you so" parade, and you have to reel in the crazy expectations when we're looking good. The season ebbs and flows and we just have to enjoy the ride. We're better than the last three years, and the young kids are improving. That's all I ever asked for out of this season, so I'm happy!

A Top team in the West so to speak. But you have to bring it over 72 games.

I still do not like the depth where you depend on Aaron Holiday to shoot 6 out of 6......

Amen truly has problems with his ankles.

Sticking with my previous prediction of 41 wins (.500) even if it is a bit ambitious.

Winning against teams with injured stars certainly doesnt count the same, but completely blowing them out means more than merely beating them also.

I agree with your take, just adding to it a bit.

The overreactions are insane. Can we just enjoy the improvements. And hope for the playoffs. We won't know what teams are the elite til February

It is an Iron Man contest, so I am curious how that goes during February, March.

It is not like the other teams got their energy sucked out, they got to rest their players as well.

Unless you know what the future holds, how do you know what is a overreaction and what is not?

Agree with the rest of what you said.

There will Def be a regression to the mean in terms of shooting. Legs will get tired and fatigue will set in esp for our vets. But hopefully by that time the schedule is a lot easier I mean we face a gauntlet till dec.

It is an assumption but it looks like Udoka is not someone who tolerates coasting.......

    • There is even fatigue in NBA2K.......maybe the Rockets are just on steroids.
    • At least I have not seen anything like this outside of a Video game.

The Loveable Losers Era with Adelman should remind everyone that with some heart, effort and proper instruction you can get to 40 wins. Sprinkle in a legitimate star offensive threat or two with a stout defense and you might have caught lightning in a bottle.

Ultimately we will go as our shooting goes as is the nature of this sport. Hit 37% 3's as a team for the season? Dont make plans for next May/June!

All our starters were under 30 minutes played in the Lakers game.
I think Udoka is trying to counter the fatigue factor already.

Fatigue is more than saving 12 mins of playing time lol. It's mental and physical and the NBA grind.

Because fans tend to overreact, that one is true.......I am sure Udoka and staff have more data and better insight than any of us do.

Their estimation of Wins and Losses is better than ours but they will keep it private.

The hardest part is not achieving, the hardest part is to repeat the same season over and over again with roster movements......

We are not with the team every day.

I expect the shooting to have its peaks and valleys but this sustained effort and discipline can net 40 wins by itself and then as you mentioned this team has much more higher ceiling special talent players than those Adelman Rockets, yes there is potential for something special brewing in Houston now.

38-40 wins should be a goal if EVERYTHING goes right. 30 is realistic

Dude its crazy to see these guys out there selling out on defense. Most of us already knew that good offensive talent was here and just needed nurturing, but to see this intense defense early in the season is so comforting. Its always been an effort thing with the Tank Kids. I have to applaud the job Ime Udoka and the new vets are doing so far they've really shaped up the team into a professional operation. Trying really hard to not go total gushing homer.
