But remember what Brady did when he finally got that true #1? Not a priority for the first round, but if someone is a #1 and available through trade the Texans gotta do it.

Did not know this. Pretty cool.
Pleasantly surprised Ian Eagle was on call for the game Sunday. I like him more than Nantz and 'I don't know Jim."

This kids All 22 suggest he will never be a bust.

The endzone view of him and how much he goes through reads/looks off defenders is wild.

I think the Joe Burrow comp is very valid.

I was with you until this. I think there's plenty of room to love Will Anderson and hate the deal that brought him here. Personally, what's done is done - but I think many are going to feel differently about the deal next April.

But, again: the Texans unexpectedly being a middle-of-the-pack+ team wasn't really a viable factor then so the deal isn't *as* bad these many months later.

The Texans gave up the 12th pick, the 33rd, and the current 15th pick next year for the ability to draft the best defensive prospect in this/next years draft.

I just don't see it as heavy of a costs as others are making it out to be.

Will was a really good prospect with low bust potential. At worst, he is already a solid pass rusher who is great against the run. Thats a good player and certainly a foundational piece.

That's a *significant* cost. It just is. You can be fine with the cost - but they paid *a lot.* Granted, the deal looks better as long as the Texans are winning/competitive - but at the time, no one rightly thought this was team that would be picking in the middle of the first round.

I own my initial reaction to the deal - I thought it was a gross overpay at the time, and still think they gave up too much. But... even at the time, I loved how exciting the move was; I love Will Anderson...

Im cool with Will, but Jalen Carter has been every bit as advertised if not more. He looks like a young Aaron Donald out there and will probably win defensive rookie of the year. Im hoping Will has a similar ascent to Khalil Mack where he needed a year to feel out the game and then exploded year 2 onward. Really need him to get home and impact the passing game in more ways than just pass rush win rates vs being a jack of all trades with a heavy run influence ala Jadeveon which is still really beneficial for a team. Hell of a player not trying to diminish Will whatsoever - his skill and technique package is phenomenal once he can get some actual good players on the inside that take away all of the attention from him he will take off. No wonder why Greenard is having a career year enjoying all the 1 on 1's with Will eating up the blockers on the other side.

I didnt know for sure but just making a prediction based on matchups. Week 8 maps were released and Texans did not get the respect yet. A team going to the Lions at Chargers game
