Legit question and I was wondering what this guy brings to the table. Really hope it's conditioning because this guy looks robotic as f*ck.
He has looked terrible so far. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he will recover.
It’s hilarious ‘fans’ throw shade at a guy battling injuries before he gets a chance to establish himself. Londale is a good backup 5.
Weren't people saying he outplayed Ayton last year? That's the type of guy I'm expecting not and old and slow footed dude.
Ayton is pretty overrated, I watched more toughness from Greg Oden the little he played. Good physical tools but I think he is pretty suspect in his head.
He's taking the wrong shots right now. Small sample size, but he's taking about twice as many threes as he has in the past, and he's never been a great three point shooter. He's not bad at it, but it would be better if he took more in the paint. He's never going to be great, but he is better than he has shown here so far. I think he's still getting healthy and finding his place in the offense. They overpaid him in my opinion, but I do think that he will improve as the season goes on.
He is a career 28.7% 3pt shooter. He is bad actually. https://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/3146557/jock-landale
he's a temporary backup center. remember we offered Brook Lopez a large contract that he turned down. Jock can set good screens, play decent defense, and box out. other than that, you're hoping and praying. i guarantee we draft a C next year to replace him in year 3 of Udoka's era.
I will be extremely disappointed if the Rox wait till next year to deal with our backup center issues.
when Amen and Tari get back there won't be a lot of minutes available. i have a theory you haven't seen Jabari play a single minute at C yet because that will be Udoka's "trap card" late in the year. That gives Landale really only 5-10 minutes a game. that's fine enough for this year, in my opinion.
you're right they don't. but with them gone Bari has to use all his minutes at the 3/4 currently. both Amen and Tari can matchup in that slot so it gives some more minutes available at the 5. Sengun should be playing 35 minutes a nigh at the 5 so that only leaves 13 minutes to split between Jabari and Jock. I think Jabari is more than capable of giving us 5-10 SmallBall™ center minutes when Sengun is on the bench. Jock can the remaining scraps and situational match-up minutes. This lineup is one could give other team match-up nightmares: Amen / Brooks / Tari /Tate / Jabari
My point is that this team needs more than 2 useful bigs (Jabari/Alpi). Sure, your proposed lineup will work sometimes versus some teams, but we cant win consistently being forced to play small ball half the time IMO.
