One observation: I have noticed an uptick in Jewish men wearing yarmelkes and Muslim women wearing hijabs since the Hamas attacks last month. I guess it’s a way to silently show in the conflict.

DNA testing shows that from the Levantines to the modern day Palestinians, show a high degree of genetic similarity, which is consistent with the same people (Palestinians) being present in Palestine today as was present in the Bronze Age. That is not consistent with truly nomadic people. Most of the people that are labeled as Palestinians have been in that region for 3000-5000 years.
This. Worth it to Israel? Yeah - Worth it to the USA and UK? Probably... Worth it to Israel's Arab neighbors? Possibly, depending on how it politically plays out. From a geo-political standpoint a lot of people, especially outside the Arab region, really do not care....... and even in the Arab world, those in position of power largely do not care. It is almost like having a really sick relative that keeps hanging on and every time you think they are going to die - they don't. Eventually some are actually looking forward to their death so they can stop worrying about it. Might makes right - that is something that many Muslims in that region of the world know well- and that is what will likely happen.

Once this is over, it will be used as an excuse to clamp down harder on Gaza AND the Westbank. The IDF will occupy and control Gaza like they do the Westbank - and likely long term we will see Israeli settlements in Gaza as well.
There is genetic similarities between the Jews and the Palestinians. The Palestinians though didn't migrate across the world and then decide to comeback 1500 years later. I am a vast majority Scandinavian genetically - from those Viking follies many a time ago - the Scandinavian Vikings had control of Normandy long ago, perhaps I should go and retake Normandy based on my Viking heritage.
I agreed with you - until I spent real time in Western Europe, there are too many Muslims in Western Europe. There are some moderate Muslims in Europe, but there are also a lot of very extreme Muslims in Europe and there is a lot of social pressure on Muslims in places like London to be very religious and extremists. I do not particularly care for any of the Abrahamic religions - in the United States I do not like Fundamentalist Christians. Also - Islamic as it is practiced in some parts of the world is not compatible with Western values. In the USA there really isn't a problem with Islam and acculturation, but that isn't true in parts of Europe....... some of that is because Europe isn't as welcoming as the USA is for immigrants, some of that is because of the totalitarian nature of Islam in some parts of the world.
