Why trade Green unless someone blows you away with a trade for him? Perhaps Someone sees superstar in him too.

At this point you don’t take him to the pawn shop to get vestigial value, as he is young, productive, and good team chemistry.

And if Green does fizzles out from all star potential, and becomes nothing more than a bench player, well you have Cam Whitmore in training and Amen.

So if Green is relegated to a bench player, well every team can use a scorer off the bench; hence even at his low value, Green can hang his hat on his burst of scoring as a microwave scorer.

It’s a small sample size but so far Green’s 3 point shooting is better. He’s shooting 37% from 3. If he can keep that up, we’ve got something. Surprisingly he’s the same or worse than last year in virtually all the other statistical categories. I’m eager to see what these numbers look like by all star break.

For @NewAge I think I know where it comes from. It's the same type of compensating for insecurities that people like John Wayne or G Gordon Liddy had about their "manliness". John Wayne for example skipped out on WW2 even though his entire life he tried to portray himself as this bad ass machismo dude. And for the rest of his remaining life he felt insecure about not serving and it showed in his behavior.

Someone like NewAge probably has lived a sedentary suburban life that has no traditional "ultra badass masculine" traits and that probably makes him very insecure about his manhood when he was probably raised in a diet of idolizing guys like John Wayne. He's a damaged person.

I have been critical of JG but I always have to catch myself and remember he is still only 21yrs and his body still has not matured.

We probably won't see his best until he is 24 or 25yrs old.

Still outscoring the rest of the team with relative ease, and he has the ball a lot less than he did previously. But sure, let's trade a guy who's trending upwards with every game because he paints his nails and makes @NewAge (who named himself like he's a middle aged woman who likes to wear mandalas and go on vacay to Goa) insecure. :rolleyes:o_O

First trading for Ben Simmons, then giving a super deal to KPJ because he will be the next superstar, and now trading Green at the deadline. I am impressed.

Chill the eff out. The team is just getting started under a new coach. The 2014 Spurs showed that a superstar is not needed to win a ship. Culture is arguably more important than super stars and it looks like the Rockets are finally building culture than simply catering to a super star player.

Jalen Green is very young player. Giving up on a player with his level of talent this soon is not a prudent idea. Yes he makes a lot of mistakes but we finally have a coach that will push him. I say we see ride him for the rest of the season and maybe revisit this question afterward.

Right now, the team is playing well for a change. Let’s enjoy that for the first time since the Harden era..

It’s pretty obvious Mr Judge and Jury himself on what it is to be manly subconsciously desires to be pounded.

Last night should be a template for Jalen. Come out aggressive, put pressure on the other teams defense (and officials to blow the whistle), when they change their scheme (actually saw the Kings switch to a zone... lol) make the right reads and distribute the ball.

I find it interesting that Jalen still initiates quite a bit of the Rockets offensive sets, but with the Rockets focus on ball movement he doesn't always benefit from getting the assist or shot. I'm fine with that, as not only is this more enjoyable to watch as a fan of the sport, but also is translating to wins.

Trading a player that can go off for 19 in a half and has the maturity to not hunt for stats, but make the right reads keeping the ball moving, while playing improved defense would be the epitome of a knee jerk response to the first few games of a season...

Glad the Rockets coaches and staff are more mature than that.
