Look at them nervously getting their final hits in. They obviously know where this is headed, so they start building the new narrative now.

We've seen Jalen have a good playmaking game. A good scoring game. A good enough defensive game. Just needs to do all 3 of those things simultaneously at a good pace. The progress has been incredible given it's just been 6 games since this kid was taught to play NBA basketball.

This team is going to be excellent defensively, but if Green can put up 25ppg on good efficiency and passable defense, our offense will also surprise a lot of people.

It's good to see Jalen step it up across the board over the last couple of games. He's playing in the flow more, less thinking...Let's keep it going.

Facts. He has been downright pesky on defense lately, and that burst of speed that he gives our offense has to be terrifying for other teams that come in expecting a win. Combine that with Jabari’s unblockable shot making, and Alperen’s ability to be the 1st and 2nd down running back, scary.

The fit offensively between Sengun, Green and Bari is great.

Man in just imagining how dominant this team can be offensively if at least one of Amen or Cam also hit.

It's great to see that when he gets beat he doesn't just give up on the play. He actually had a recovery block on Mitchell early. I've never seen him do that before. Progress.

The new narrative is: "Oh, maybe they aren't going to trade him. He'll be a good role player. I've been saying that all along." ;)

Jalen definitely has done recovery blocks. Like he did it on Lillard in a rather empathic way last season.

That's the thing. He's shown flashes. It's now he's doing it on a consistent basis. He recovered multiple times last night from being initially beat. It's the consistency that is the major improvement.

Yup and the next narrative is: "well, can he win a title carrying an NBA team on his back without much help?"

There's always a way to generate a narrative that allows you to barf out your pessimism.

So, let's say you want to move Jalen. Who are you moving him for? Serious question. If you look at a starting lineup of FVV-Brooks-Smith-Sengun, what is it missing? Pretty clearly a slashing 2-guard like Jalen. And since we don't have a current Jalen replacement on the roster (Whitmore is nowhere ready), trading Jalen would only make sense if you were trading for a BETTER 2-guard.

So, who could that be? Ant, Book, Mitchell, and Brown aren't getting traded. Maxey's pretty clearly untouchable. I also don't think Memphis would trade Bane, Beal is old, and I don't think Herro would be much of an upgrade (if at all).

So, really you have one option -- Zach Lavine. And to get him without giving up one of our premium pieces aside from Green, you'd probably have to trade Green, Oladipo, basically all our depth, and a bunch of draft capital. Would that be worth it? I don't think so.

The future real reality is always uncertain, unlike message board virtual reality. People have the option to post cost-free predictions here, free tickets to bragging-right sweepstakes.

What is certain is the past and the present. Past two years Jalen Green was complete trash. Past few games he shows that he can be a serviceable role player. I mean, I even saw him fight through a screen last night, something that never happened before… That’s a fact.

Define "role player." Even in Udoka's Sengun-centric system which relies way more on ball movement than ISO play, Green very likely will average 20+ ppg once he settles in. Is that a "role" player? Not to me.

Looks like Udoka is gassing up Jalen to become his version of Jaylen Brown. Reeled in and under control. Calm like a bomb! Unleashing waves of pressure from 4 is probably the best way to use his superpowers instead of having him carry the entire load. Who is going to be Tatum? Jabari or Sengun? This is getting interesting!

Oh yeah, that has been the narrative since the Corey Brewer thing started.....

I mean, he’s a starter, so that’s one. I’d say during this winning streak he was probably our 4-6th best player.
The big three has been Sengun/Fred/Dillon
then 4-6 is Jalen, Jabari and Tate
these are my tiers for the win streak

Makes sense, though I would put Bari in the Sengun/Fred/Dillon category. He's played great the last four games.

Your obsession with Green and how he looks or acts is really interesting. Makes me question if it's a reflection of how you feel about yourself. Pretty sad stuff.

Ime had to stop Green a few times from going rogue, he is still learning how to play in a system, and off the ball.

he has to unlearn years of AAU stink.

He may never be a superstar, but he is trending towards the right direction, so let’s roll.

Expect an @fchowd0311 posting hurricane due to Green's first good game of the season.

Except that the bragging-right shouldn't be free. You can brag when you are right. But you should also be subject to humiliation when you are wrong. Too bad, some posters, maybe most posters, who feel so sure of themselves NEVER admit they were wrong. They either double down and create new narrative to justify their wrong takes or act like a victim of being bullied when people are piling on them for being wrong.

If you don't want to get pounded, act with a little more humility. People who get called out are those who act like they know the future for sure.

This is just a momentary snap shot of what is going on, if you want him to admit, he has to wait till the offseason, to have the complete picture.

But I would say Ime is probably not letting Green fail......as a player.
