If the Judge can't control his emotions he shouldn't be a judge either....

I have a feeling both of you will be disappointed with the outcome, all this tax payor money for a slap on the hand.... Trump is a near lock for the 2024 election...

Trump only has one priority in all of these cases... win the 2024 election with a juiced up hysterical MAGA cult of voters, have a weakened Biden with a fractured Dem voting base, and have a couple third party candidates pull votes off the margins.... and have his ace in the hole MAGA Mike in the House muck with the certification if he does lose, and hope the Supreme Court weighs in to make him President even if he loses.

We are watching these court cases in the wrong context. He and his cult do not care if he wins or loses, and in fact those around him that want to leach power from him want him to lose in order to create a martyr complex ala burning of the Reichstag and birth of the Mein Kampf movement.

This is a man hellbent on overturning Democracy in 2025 and becoming a dictator for selfish and messianic level purposes. This is a dangerous time we are in and I hope that the media starts framing these court cases in the proper context, and stops getting sucked into the reality TV drama because that's the intent.

You should be disappointed that you still back a candidate who has 91 criminal counts against him but I don't expect slow witted MAGA voters to care.

This solidifies my point exactly. The MAGA cult and it's followers like this guy are 100% convinced that the more Trump is a perceived Martyr... .the better his chances are of taking back power, and never letting America turn back into a pesky Democracy.

I'm voting Trump because I believe he is a better president than Biden, show me a competent Democrat and maybe the decision becomes more difficult... 4 more years of Biden? Yeah nope.... Give me Trump all day...

Judges are allowed to have emotions.

They can have emotions, they just cant let their emotions overtake them or influence their judgement. Clearly its not happening in this trial.

Somehow I doubt MAGA folks would support a black man or woman with 91 criminal counts against them for President.

I have no expectations about the NY civil fraud case wrt the 2024 primary and elections.

Trump likely sees this case as an existential threat though. Trump Inc will get dissolved. The amounts of the proceeds from the asset sales minus the penalties will be known publicly ... and likely a smaller value than Trump promotes. Trump should still be a rich man. Perhaps not a billionaire.

Trump does have criminal trials in the federal DC circuit and the state of Georgia, which should be finished by the 2024 elections. Trump could end up in jail, at least in Georgia where the system has minimum sentences and the sentencing judge has no flexibility. This brings the possibility that Trump could be convicted of trying to steal the 2020 election and that Trump is the 2024 Presidential winner. Who knows wtf happens then.

There are multiple Section 3 of the 14th Amendment cases (currently in Colorado and Minnesota with more on the way), which could derail Trump's election bid early. A strict reading of Section 3 says Trump is not eligible and can not be sworn in as POTUS. The way the courts are, I think that the USSC will do the bidding of their backers and give Trump a pass. Sad ****ing state of affairs.

I'd support Byron Donalds as president with 91 criminal counts against him....

You cannot compare who is a better president of a democracy in your opinion because you don’t see the presidency under the framework of our constitution.

Maybe you think Trump is a better autocratic dictator who represents your culture and bigoted nature, but as a constitutional president there’s just no comparison in Joe Biden vs Trump. Trump literally tried to overturn our elections, has disclosed the most secretive classified nuclear secrets to foreigners, used the military for political theatre, and used the presidency to enrich himself all the while using tax policy to also enrich the elite at the expense of our national debt.

Trump is not a constitutional president by any standards so there’s no comparison to a normal president so therefore your comment here is garbage. If you vote for Trump you are knowingly voting against our constitution in promotion of an autocracy. Your attempt to make the argument about Biden is ridiculous. I wish we could argue Biden the way we should be able to argue a president’s merits but up against Trump it’s all moot. The choice is autocracy vs democracy. Not Biden vs Trump.

You are obvious pro dictatorship and should just have the balls to own it instead of trying to fool people here. Why are you so scared to just own it?

I have seen no evidence of emotions overtaking or interfering in the judgment.

A screaming unhinged table slamming judge is not evidence of emotions taking over?

Clearly you are not arguing in good faith. Any judge getting verbally attacked repeatedly by a defendant in court would have some sort of reaction. The diatribes and personal attacks Trump took on the stand were something no other defendant in the United States could ever get away with.

But you know you are not serious. I just wish you’d be honest and stop arguing like a gutless coward. Just own up to what you believe in and stop beating around the bush. You aren’t stupid…. But you are an autocrat who is actively helping destroy democracy via your support for Trump. Be a man instead of acting like a frail scared little girl.

Judges routinely slam the table. It's called a gavel and is there to slam the table.

Trump attacked the court and judge personally, threw a fit from the stand, rolled his eyes, and disrespected the court. Murderers have treated the court with more respect for the process. If any of us behaved like Trump did in the courtroom, we'd be charged and held for contempt.

The fact that the judge didn't do that is evidence that he wasn't overcome with emotion and didn't put Trump in jail for contempt shows that he maintained control and didn't let it influence his judgment.

If I was a coward I wouldn't voice my opinion in favor of Trump, I do stand up for what I believe despite popular or unpopular opinion. This whole trial is a waste of tax payer money. Trump won't go to jail and Trump will not lose most of his fortune. He will still be on the ballot in 2024 and most likely will win also. I do believe he was a better president, its not just me. I'm not the minority in that opinion, the polls show otherwise. Biden not only does not align with my personal beliefs but he is awful. I can't even begin to take serious anyone that defends him or tries to "prove" otherwise. I'd much prefer a candidate that is willing to be neutral but that candidate does not exist, I'd vote Dem if there was a neutral candidate that respected my beliefs and had an America first agenda.
