I wonder how many teams actually have a second guy on their roster that they’re comfortable turning FG kicking over to. It’s one thing to kick off. Or punt. Quite another to make FGs in an NFL game with that kind of pressure

There’s a litany of videos out there of NFL players trying to kick FG’s (badly)… and they’re attempting it off a stationary holder without any defense. It’s a skill-set. Much like hitting a golf ball accurately every time. Can be accomplished with tons of practice… but not just something anybody can do.
In middle school football / pee wee, I was the quarterback, the kicker and the punter. It’s weird teams don’t have any redundancy here.
