This game looked like a professional basketball team out there. They stuck to the game plan and stuck to the defense. No goofy immature BS, just hard nosed basketball. That was a great game to watch and my kids got to see what a competent team looks like for once. They could see the difference.
After tonight's game the Rockets have a .400 win percentage. When was the last time you could say that?
Where does it rank with the other starting lineups? 6th. That's serious. We have god fearing gangsters. Progress is an understatement.
Was that technically Pre-bubble. I do not recall 2 Rounds of Playoffs being that lengthy. That was an odd year.
Jalen needs to fix his getting the $HIT blocked out of his drives 5x a game. That $hit is embarrassing to watch.
Yeah, I didn't want to say it after such a nice win, but you're right. To his credit though, and this is HUGE, he did take fewer shots than any other starter, so at least he didn't chuck the game away. His shot was off again, but at least he didn't make it worse by taking 20 of them.
THIS !! All of our young core is starting to "get it "....I am seeing a talented young core, being greatly helped along by a couple of players displaying the veteran presence we hoped we were getting when we got them. It is SOOO much fun to watch Ime coach a TEAM. Last year was a lot of selfish playing...I'm going to get mine..screw you and yours. A lot of playground type basketball. The coaching, system and leadership are light years better this year. GS players echoed that recently after our game. This is going to be FUN. IMO the idea is for one player to pick another up when having a subpar night. And, they are ALL going to have a subpar night.I don't know what the win total will be (my guess is somewhere between 30-40...I know,I know). The key is how each piece fits in the overall puzzle. I think we are going to look up at the end of the year and see a team that competes night in and night out...that other teams didn't look forward to seeing next on their schedule.
Tomorrow's game will tell us a lot about their ability to deal with real pressure. The Kings are going to come out hard and they are going to apply a lot of pressure defensively. Everyone is going to have to raise their play above tonight's level to get a win. Can't come equal or they'll get crushed. I think the game against the Lakers is winnable if they take advantage of their young legs and keep the tempo up which should wear LA out. I think that would be the best strategy to steal a win there.
When we get Tari and Amen, plus a couple of shooters at the trading deadline, this Rockets team will be really good. Need to shore up the bench.
Lmao. I’m not arguing anything. Jalen Green has not improved on what he showed his rookie year. The stats support that. The eye test supports that. This isn’t a debate.
I'm really wondering what we can get this bench unit turned around because it really hurts us and we lose a lot of momentum the moment subs start. Tari should help obviously but...that's about it. Amen is not going to be a + player this year (although he does look like he can contribute on defense and hustle) and we can't rely on a rookie in Cam to save us there. Only thing that will help is if these guys, Sengun, Bari, Green, really break out to where they are bonafide scorers night in and night out and you could truly stagger their minutes with the bench unit to where they can carry a bench unit. But yeah the Starters are seriously tearing it up. Even in that Orlando game they came out and erased that lead entirely only for the bench to come in and give it right back up.
