Both VanVleet and Brooks do fill that role. I expected it of Fred (who's last name I keep misspelling), but have been surprised by the extent Dillon has been a "coach on the floor," especially on defense. As for Fred's last name, there's s good article in The Athletic about it (link below). VanVleet uses his mother's last name and has been told that it's of Dutch origin. I assumed that it was Dutch, but was glad I could get it confirmed by the man himself. That people, including broadcasters, very often pronounce and sometimes even spell his last name VanFleet does bother him a bit. He's stoic about it, though.
