I only thought he would be injury prone which was proven to be ......somewhat correct in the beginning.
"Flop" in the sense of a career being cut short by injuries. Almost everybody believed Chet had the highest ceiling among the top 3 picks last year. The only reason he wasn't picked first was his fragile frame. I think if both of him and Wemby stay healthy for a long career, Chet actually has a chance to be better than Wemby.
Cannot say for sure, whoever comes out with the better Offensive package will win the war here on out, now these are just small battles. Chet is the better defender, the Gonzaga School is better than the French league IMHO. Wemby is just not a human being, a monstrosity. Multiverse is the limit.
Why do some of y'all love re-litigating past decisions that you had no say in anyway? I don't get it. Like arguing over former potential quarterbacks for the Texans or possible draft picks for the Rockets. And then... getting really angry and self-righteous about these nebulous, hindsight-aided, (and actually totally random, prone to great fluctuation from the vagaries of the universe and player health, etc), trying to stick it to other posters who also had no say in the actual decisions. I just don't get the appeal, like... at all. Where's the enjoyment? It does make for turrrible reading, but I don't want to put you all on ignore.
I guess arguing about a past decision was a somewhat worthwhile exercise. What is beyond me is arguing about picks we had no chance of getting. Not only that, people are actually trashing our own players in order to prop up the player they wanted but didn't have a chance to get.
IDK but you are right, if we want to trash we should trash everyone, Mobley, Green, Banchero Bari......They are all in a funk. If they improve, we acknowledge them as we did in the past.
Well, I consider that achievement level as slapstick performance art, and I consider it good reading.
Got to do something a lot of Clutchfans members do not do and say I admit I was wrong on Chet. He's been playing amazing. I thought he would struggle his first few years but show enough promise to the org that he's worth the time and investment before he becomes an Andrei Kirilenko type player. I don't think he's in the Wemby tier of generational prospect but I do think I was wrong about his first few years. To be fair to myself, I only watched like 2 or 3 of his games in college and always made that disclaimer. I dont watch endless a lot of college basketball
I was big on Chet, while some said he had no dribble game or fluidity, they’re obviously wrong. I think he is a generational talent personally, but because Wemby is the even bigger version of him he’s devalued a little. I actually think Chet is a better defender and defends better in space. Not as fluid as Wemby offensively but still absolutely ridiculous for his size. Would have been perfect fit on the Rockets
What the Rockets SHOULD have got was the 1st Pick this year and the 2nd pick the year before. Then we would have had both Wemby AND Chet! Stupid NBA is so stupid. LOL
The Western Conference All-Star team will be a NIGHTMARE for the East in a couple of years when the frontcourt is headlined by: SF - Durant PF - Holmgren ..C - Wembanyama Eastern Conference may as well just sit it out.
