Man are you dumb? We were the worst team because we had an inept coach, tried to convert a catch and shooting guard to a point guard and our best players were barely 19 yo. We were supposed to be the worst team in the league. Are you genuinely trying to tell people that he didn't make us a play in /playoff team in the last 2 years THEREFORE he is not as good as ppl think he is?
Don't worry, him admitting that he is actually a good player has to be burning him inside. I guess trying to stick to his old line that he sucks just looks so stupid that he had to move the goal posts on himself.
Not being fond of him 2 years ago was understandable he was physically weak, a 6'9 terrible defender. Now he's 6'11ish, actually took a massive leap on d and clearly the most consistent youngster on the team. Hating him now is a terrible look for you as a fan. Kid scores, assists and not a liability on D. If you are hating on an improving player and that player plays for your team you are the lowest form of fan. I would honestly understand the heat he gets if he had stagnated. We hired a good defensive coach that holds his players responsible and he's still trash on D? His assist to TO ratio is still low? Those would be valid questions to ask. I would also be skeptical of his ceiling but i can not after what he has shown so far this season. This is equivalent of trashing your employer of the month in front of other employers as a boss. Sure anyone can have a preference but again how do you know your preference will work the best with the rest of the crop? How do we know this team would flourish with some Drummond starting at 5? He wouldn't create the same looks for other as sengun does. He wouldn't be your go to guy when nobody can make 3s. Grizzlies are at the bottom with JJJ they are winless. Basketball is multifaceted game especially in 2023 yet some fans have this weird mindset.
If only people had taken into consideration that he was a 19-year-old rookie playing for the worst team in the league with the worst coach in Rockets history...oh wait, F that, they were idiots clamoring for Bruno while hating on a rookie that showed amazing potential. Simply put, it was never understandable except for people with personal agendas dying to be right and being proven wrong is sweeeeeet for the rest of us who knew it was coming.
