Yeah but it was just a preseason game after all. JV will be more physical than preseason game and i think Alp has lots of room to improve in the strength department. He's just 21, he'll get stronger.
Don't think Green can elevate his offense to make his defense irrelevant. on defense he doesn't look like a 3rd year nba player. Getting lost on rotations, switches and too weak.
Sengun still struggled against him that one game. Posters are all of 2 pts I don't think it matters. Kai Jones had that poster on Wemby and nobody gives a crap. Collins is pretty decent right now he is helping Wemby beat down the Suns and they have Nurkic. Zach Collins is the type of player Al Pi struggles against he is long and massive. That's why like I said it's a good sign Al Pi had good games NOP since Mark Williams and Richard's are the same as Valanciunas and Collins.
I thought stats might help to make this a more objective discussion. Collins' team won most of the games against each other (5-1) Sengun dominated almost every statistical category, individually. The individual stats do not really support the assertion that Sengun struggled specifically against Collins. Sengun's stats against Collins are better than his average career stats, see below.
Although, to be fair, Collins' stats against Sengun are better than his career stats - I'm too lazy to look up now if that is just because his stats in his first years in the league were terrible.
I think you probably just don't understand stats. He scored 23 points on 16 shots (.6 TS%) with 3 assists and 1 TO. That's a very efficient game. He didn't have any "good" games before that so not sure what you're talking about.
My answer is I don’t care. I’m excited that all our young guys: Sengun, Green, Jarbari, Tari, Cam, Amen have tremendous up-side and now have a coach that is actually invested in putting them in positions to succeed. I believe they will continue to get better and vets will be sprinkled in to make the team more and more competitive while they grow. Anybody that thought we could completely tear down a team, start from scratch, tank for high draft picks, and be play-off contenders in 3 years (1 year if you consider the coaching) was crazy.
Yeah Sabonis has sort of hit a wall, actually. So I hope he is better than that IF we want him to be our key player. However, forget about Sengun and any Rocket; can we all admit that Wembanyama is friggin awesome, the NBA Lottery is rigged, and we always get hosed! The only time we have ever ended up with a generational talent from the draft without any problems was Dream 40 years ago. Yao and Francis had huge health issues and never became the players we needed (yes I know Yao is in the HOF but come on so is Bill Walton).
Yeah, Wemby looks like a cheat code. Also doesn't look like he will have be injury prone due to his size.
"Not worth the trouble" Updates: @SamFisher, @Clutch? Do we believe? It is pretty funny that it is Domantas Sabonis of all people who is cited above. 18 Points, 9 Rebounds, and 7 Assists at 21 years old, with a 4 to 1 assist-to-turnover ratio, while playing good defense.
Something that think about often and cannot explain: The Portland Trail Blazers could have drafted Michael Jordan and Kevin Durant, but instead drafted Sam Bowie and Greg Oden. How? Why? Is that explainable?
