The moment they raised the minimum wage anyone with a brain should have known that eventually the prices of the food would have to go up... Its how economy works, the next part is where Mcdonalds leaves California and the people who got a raise end up losing their jobs....

the minimum wage in california is $15.50 per hour. you realize that there are plenty of fast-food/service industry places here in texas paying the same rate, right? are they going out of business too?

it looks like $18 is the cost for a combo meal, not just a burger. thats still a lot for that garbage, but unless im reading it wrong the burger by itself does not cost $18.

mcdonalds is s***. there was a time when it was either that or burger king, but with all the other options out there i dont know why the f*** anyone would eat there.

(i still love a mcrib once every few years)

McDonald's would have raised their prices anyway, they are just using this as an excuse.

Increasing wages to $20 for fast food workers helps no one - the dum.b democrats can't get this concept - what do they think happens if say you raise minimum wage to $100 per hour- it's about buying power - fully automated restaurants means NO jobs !

If you make $100,000 in Texas - you need to earn $500,000 in crap blue states to have the same standards of living - but I'm not even sure that's the case. Maybe have to earn closer to $1 million because no Walgreens, No In and Out plus no deliveries so those costs have to be factored

it's the same reason I see California transplants getting the hell out and scooping up $1 million dollar homes in Brentwood TN because that same house would be $10 million in California plus the amazing luxury living conditions in affluent Brentwood (and non existent crime) same thing happening in Texas no doubt

There’s some smart people in California

the way to solve this is to not hire people
