Fant has played very well no lie, but Slowik and Co. actually have Tytus out there pulling on crashing ends LOL lets put our guys in positions to succeed. Coaching and play design has to be better in the run game.
If there is any truth to that statement, that there isn't a running back in the league who can find an opening against rushing defenses on the Texans, then what's the solution? Do we need to sign a couple of the best OL available in FA and trade some others for more cap space, and forget signing the best defensive player or WR? What's the solution here? Is it players, coaches, or both?
Here is the Texans’ injury report for Wednesday: Blake Cashman — Wrist — Full Participation George Fant — Foot/Shoulder — Limited Participation Ka’dar Hollman — Ankle — Did Not Participate Tytus Howard — Knee — Limited Participation Josh Jones — Hand — Full Participation Brevin Jordan — Foot — Did Not Participate Denzel Perryman — Hand/Wrist — Full Participation Dameon Pierce — Ankle — Did Not Participate Sheldon Rankins — Knee — Limited Participation Tavierre Thomas — Hand — Full Participation Laremy Tunsil — Knee — Did Not Participate Jimmie Ward — Rest — Limited Participation Robert Woods — Foot — Did Not Participate
Tytus should not be playing guard. He is pretty close to elite as a RT. Grinds my gears remembering how Buttchin tried that already. Not Tytus' fault he's probably not pulled a single time since he made the position switch to OL in college.
You have a much higher opinion of Howard than I have. He's an avg RT and below avg LG. Caserio shouldn't have extended him. He pulled one time that I know of last game. Missed the block on Banks, messing up the play.
Tytus has been graded a much higher tackle than guard in his young career. Tackle is his natural position. While my fan cry of 'elite' may be homeristic I dont think there is any way you can frame him being better for us as an IOL. He even looked really good playing LT last year filling in for Tunsil.
Fun Fact: From Week 3 to Current Week, Texans lead the league in Defense PPG w/ 14.4 PTS/G. Ravens would be a close second w/ 14.6 PTS/G. Season team leader (Ravens) currently allow 15.1 PTS/G
I feel like we need an injury thread at this point, unless there already is one. I'm afraid to see how many players were injured today. It seems like a non-stop train this year.
