We are seriously entering subjective territory here on out, I would not want to comment anything about who is elite.

But I guess people on here are in camps now, I am getting out haha.

Well a lot of things are subjective. The current discussion is a response to @jordnnnn -- to declare the signing of Brooks as a win is as premature as writing off a young player after 4 games. I agree. Others don't. That's fine.

The main point for those who agree with jordnnnn is that Dillon's offense is very unlike what he has been doing his whole career. What he has been doing in Memphis is not good. Can he change? Of course. Can we conclude that he has changed for good? Not after only 4 games. Let's wait after at least half a season.

What we can agree to disagree is that whether his value on defense is worth his downside on offense if he reverts back to his former self.

Other than the Orlando game, he has been exactly what the Rockets need and hoped for.

Will it continue? Has he turned a new leaf? Who knows?
What I do know is that if he reverts to taking too many bad shots, Ime will have something to say about it.

I do not think he changed, he just got more to the hoop and shot very well from 3. Shot were falling.

He has channeled his Inner Jordan to maximum of 5-7 possessions.

The play in Preseason after the New Orleans game was pretty pedestrian but he somehow found his efficiency in real games.

Let's also say that he has channeled his Inner Curry to be a .625 3pt shooter. :D

I can't understand how Brooks is still getting hate. Is he overpaid maybe? Sure, but to deny he's been a difference maker for the Rockets so far is crazy. I've seen solid team play from him on both sides of the ball and great shooting.

I wonder if the criticism to his shooting efficiency and shot selection did end up make take a more disciplined approach on offense.

I feel like the Brooks we see now is not very different from the one during FIBA world cup

The Canadian team and Jordy, Sactown assistant, have been giving Brooks 2nd option responsibilities.

I would say the Rockets are not that far ahead, Canada was dependent on Brooks.

Rightfully so as the NBA has much better individual players than FIBA did.

I suspected Brooks would become a loved player around here. I also didn't think that his stats last year were a good representation of him as a player. If you look at the Grizz in past seasons, even with all their injuries Brooks was a guy who showed up more than any other player. And in the games he played in, despite who was or wasn't playing they won a bunch of games.

It appears Brooks is Tate with more skills.

A bigger version of Mario Elie.

He's a franchise player on a team going nowhere, but he might be a #3 on a championship team. I think #4 is more like it.

Prior to tonight, 10 FGA per game for the year, down from 14.
