Not in a million years. Embiid is injured WAY too often and has proven he cannot lift a team when it counts in the post season not to mention he will be on the wrong side of 30 later this season.

We'll have to disagree there but I understand you. Personally I think his shooting form is dramatically better than the beginning of last season. He's pump faking less and more importantly he is no longer leaning forward on his 3pt jumper and showing more repeatable stability. If anything, I think his % will improve as he gets used to taking them. Remember he was working on it for a big chunk of the summer (both footwork and 3pt shooting intensive training). This is exactly what it looks like when someone is improving their 3pt shot. Every season, preseason, tournament he seems to be a little better at it.

Defense and 3pt shooting are MAJOR areas. Small improvements in these areas will go a long way and I give him credit for doing that in such an anti-development environment the past couple of years.

His shot diet in the mid range 10-16 feet area has gone up by three times so far this season, 16% of his total attempts vs 5% and 4% is first two years. He’s currently making 55.6% of those shots. I’m less concerned with the conversion rate due to small sample size but I do think the change in shot diet is significant, he has added the shot to his bag as the kids say. Also his 3pt rate is twice as last season and that’s with him still not totally comfortable with it. Adding range to his game both from the midrange and 3pt instead of only relying on post ups and at the basket shots is exactly what you are asking for, adding elements to his game.

Good point, this isn't something I've noticed at all. It seems like I'm just wrong on this one and haven't been paying attention to the right things. Good post and good info, thanks.

Not bad for a maxed out player I guess.
