Sengun just became the youngest center to reach 500 assists in NBA history.

Surely Scola was second on this list since they are so similar. Third?

And I think Alp wingspan was 7’1 when he was 19. Some sites had 7’ others had 7’1.
He has grown so there’s a good chance he’s closer to 7’2/7’3 wingspan

Not impressed by Alperen so far. He can be so much more consistent on both ends, especially on the boards.

His norm should be around 25 and 12, with 6 or so assists. He isn’t attacking as aggressively as he should, or rebounding as aggressively as he should. The perimeter defensive improvements, and the talking improvements are nice, but he can be more dominant than he is showing. Grow up Alperen. Be aggressive. Stop 2nd guessing everything.

Alperen has the capability of being a 1st and 2nd down running back for this team against anyone. He should be fouling every opposing C out. LOTS of room for improvement.

It's a weird one because I agree with parts of this, but I also disagree with the principle. I genuinely think you have to take the last 2 years into account for all of our players. Every single one of them had a terrible situation and learned next to nothing. Sengun was put in a box last season. As much as I think people need to chill on the Green hate and consider how easily he puts up numbers and his natural gifts and realise he only played NBA "ball" in that piss poor Silas system that taught no defense or structure but he IS getting slowly more consistent and showing better effort on D also this year. In 20 games, I would expect to see much more consistency there. Now, apply the same logic to Alpi. He wasn't allowed to be "the man" ever last year until there was literally no way to deny it and now he's having to do more. He's not just passing the ball straight back to a wing, he's quarterbacking a lot of the action. Give him time to figure his **** out and he'll easy hit the 25/10 mark. You also have to remember the brand new coach, brand new vets, brand new offense. None of this is muscle memory yet, it's still hesitant and primitive. Look again in a month or 2 when it's all well lubricated and see how good all of our youngsters AND vets are producing.

He could do all of that, but he has been focusing on defense and doing all the little things Udoka wants, rather than "getting his" and chasing stats.

And I think that is the right thing to do.

Eventually, he will establish himself more and more and become even more dominant and will rack up triple doubles.

It's a matter of when, not if.

Through 4 games he has been our best player, although technically it’s probably still FVV, Alpi is nipping at his heals

If the Rockets had a fair amount of national games this year he would be an allstar. It’s a crime that casuals don’t know about The Sauce :D

Sengun does not struggle at all against unskilled athletic bigs like Mark Williams. He usually has his best games against guys like that. See nick claxton. Last time he played the hornets he had 14 and 21 rebounds.

he usually strugggles against bigger, more disciplined and more physical defenders. Looney and Valenciunas were his worst matchups. As he gets stronger this should change also and when he can consistently make that one leg step back.

Certain people would happily trade him for any of these four guys.

And maybe even for Bruno Fernando.

I think it's crazy to want to trade any of our draftees at this point. I'd be more interested in trying to get KJ back than get rid of more of them tbh.

Those who think Alperen is doing a poor job on rebounding area, here's a stat for you.

    https://www.nba.com/stats/players/box-outs?dir=D&sort=BOX_OUTS

Alperen is leading the entire league in box outs and it's not even close.

3.3 team rebounds on box outs per game. He's 2nd in the entire league.

The fact that he's not stat padding like some of the guys in the league doesn't make him a bad rebounder.

Claxton is more similar to Mobley than Williams, he has that pogo stick frame that's like Mobley or Jarett Allen .

Williams is like Valenciunas he is a 7 footer that is a traditional big man. That's where Sengun tends to struggle in the past like his game vs Zach Collins.

You and I must be watching totally different games cuz he never struggles against Zach Collins except for a random preseason game that didn't even matter. Zach Collins is the victim of multiple Sengun posters..

He did struggle against JV in the past--kinda got shoved around a little bit. But to be fair that was one of the strongest players in the NBA versus a 20 year old.

Someone on Reddit said that he's the only guy who does a dunk and looks like he got dunked on. I dream of a world in which he manages to stay up after posterizing someone

I don't. He already frustrated JV in preseason.

Sengun is pace to match Jokic's year 4 numbers next season and year 4 was when Jokic was voted to the all-star team.

I can see Sengun making the same achievement next season as long as we start winning more games.

As for our other guys... I don't see any of them making the all-star team anytime soon. Maybe the closest one is JG but even when he has a "good" game, he's inefficient.

Who knows McGee is a year older, sengun looks stronger, thicker. Like that he ran through Williams last night. Hornets fans were pretty high on him last season and he actually looks like he can be a starter for some of the teams in the future. Dude's 7'1 but shoots but better than Sengun on the line. Maybe he is good from behind the arc too who knows.
