Thank God we got this game. Much needed W. Hopefully we bring it vs Sacramento next game.

 

We lost to the Spurs bc of free throws.
We lost to GSW bc Curry went prime and put the game away.
We won tonight almost blowing it up, but showing resilience to seal the deal.

I see fast progress. Plays are being made. Guys getting open looks... all starters averaging 15+ ppg.

Hey, we actually have a system and we are fun to watch!!!

 

Just wait til Tari returns. With a real 6th man this team has a glimmer of hope.

 

It’s so nice to finally have a great head coach ! Idk what the record right now ! Huge difference compared to Silas

 

Maybe I will be proven wrong - but I really like Udoka’s fit with the Rockets. He isn’t a pushover and he has attention to detail and a consistent demeanor with just enough fire in his eyes to know he is a dog.

 

I love me some Tari, but the problem with the bench right now is scoring. Tari brings a ton of positives, but if we’re expecting him to significantly improve the offense of the 2nd unit, we’re going to be sorely disappointed.

 

Wow. I count 3 guys he criticized in those 7 minutes. "I didn't love" Brooks' turnovers, Fred didn't hit his shots, Jabari hasn't played up to his standards and that's putting pressure on everybody else.

And yet somehow he doesn't sound b****y doing it. He just calls it like he sees it and conveys that the guys do or should expect more of themselves. He's on their side but is setting higher standards. I like it.

Ime Udoka is very Monotone I don't know if he is criticising or complimenting.

 

I really like his post-game interviews, and very much appreciate that you cut to them live on a RocketWatch each game.

 

He's setting expectations, yeah. The message he's sending also goes up the chain of command:
"Stone, look at me.....Look at me. I am the Captain now."

 

Watching the game live... the team won because it was Charlotte. Things I didn't like:

• VanVleet thinking he is Josh Christopher in the summer league trying to set scoring records in the first half
• Dillon Brooks reckless gambling on defense, getting out of position, and having the Steve Francis special in turnover numbers
• Jabari Smith turning into a stationary Shandon Anderson with little activity off the ball

What I loved:

• Sengun post game.
• Sengun passing and court vision.
• Sengun/Green tandem.

 

Nice ones.

 

Great win to see in person. Very hopeful they've turned a corner and can grow from here. Or I'm going to regret this post in 2 months

 

He’s composed at all times. But you can feel the scorching fire underneath. He exudes confidence. He nudges just enough to inspire changes. He doesn’t talk too much but always on point.

Powerful leader so far. I’m going to be very patient to see how this team plays out under him.
