The election is a year away.

No one knows if Israel or Palestinians will even be a hot topic issue a year from now.

Just going to remind people it’s not the anti-Semitic left that marched in Charlottesville, was tweeting about Jewish space lasers, or shot up the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh

Dan Patrick says PAC leader’s meeting with white supremacist was a “blunder,” but will keep group’s $3 million contribution

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Wednesday that he does not plan to return any of the $3 million he received from a group whose leader recently hosted white supremacist Nick Fuentes.

Patrick’s statement follows a Sunday report by the Texas Tribune showing that Jonathan Stickland, the president of Defend Texas Liberty and a former lawmaker from Bedford, hosted Fuentes on Friday at the offices of a consulting firm, Pale Horse Strategies, that Stickland also owns. Defend Texas Liberty is a major donor to Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton and other Republicans, and is funded primarily by two far-right West Texas oil billionaires, Tim Dunn and Farris Wilks.

Patrick said Wednesday that he spoke to Dunn, who “told me unequivocally that it was a serious blunder” for Stickland to meet with Fuentes, and assured him that the political action committee would have no “future contact” with the well-known white supremacist and Adolf Hitler admirer.

Dunn “stated emphatically that everyone at the PAC understands that mistakes were made and are being corrected,” Patrick said. “I accept Mr. Dunn at his word. I know him to be a man of integrity and an avid and staunch supporter of Israel.”

Fuentes has frequently praised Hitler and questioned if the Holocaust happened. He has called for “holy war” against Jews, said he wants the United States under authoritarian, "Catholic Taliban rule" and fantasized about marrying a 16-year-old when he is older because that’s “right when the milk is good." He has said that he would beat a "disrespectful" woman so hard that she would collapse like a building on Sept. 11, 2001. And he has routinely pushed conspiracy theories that claim there is an intentional, Jewish-driven effort to replace white people through immigration, interracial marriage and the LGBTQ+ community.

“All I want is revenge against my enemies and a total Aryan victory,” Fuentes said last year.

Those pro-civil war insurrectionist, Robert E. Lee, protesters were more armed than the ones trashing the capitol on J6.

Very fine...all beautiful and Trump luvs them if they can help him evade jailtime.

Joe Biden’s Team Probably Knows Something about Its Numbers That We Don’t
    Jeffrey BleharNovember 2, 2023 3:34 PM

I would like to tack on an addendum to Charlie Cooke’s response to Noah Rothman’s original piece concerning Joe Biden’s endorsement of a cease-fire in Gaza. Noah declared it a “cave” (it was) and rhetorically asked why the Biden administration would do this — was it really just a nakedly political calculation about its domestic coalition? Charlie answered yes and noted that, aside from being all about politics, it was also bad politics, the politics of a warped far-left bubble.

I would qualify that. I agree that it is bad politics, but it also may be — from the perspective of a Democratic strategist who wants Democrats to win elections, or at least not lose too many — the least bad option currently available. This is clearly being done as a sop to the younger demographics in the Democratic coalition, men and women who are products of an educational system that teaches them that Israelis are permanent oppressors, molded by suffocatingly effective modern social pressures and incentives. (In other words, this isn’t a transient issue for the Democrats: An entire generation was raised this way.)

In general, administrations don’t tack so visibly and publicly to the wind, as events unfold, unless they’re reacting to something the rest of us cannot see. (The “dark matter” of politics, as I like to call it.) My bet is that Democratic internal numbers are showing that an already enfeebled and unpopular Joe Biden has such a weak grasp on his own coalition that shaking loose or depressing the turnout of any one element in it could destroy the entire party’s prospects in 2024.

And if Biden’s Democratic puppet masters think they must sell Israel out for even a futile attempt at saving their own hides . . . well, only a fool bets against the instinct for self-preservation.
