its insane what you decide to focus on, countless refugees lost their lives

"well technically the walls of the refugee camps walls weren't all camp and tent like!!"

Go back to your obama era anti black and neo nazi bullshit. America and it's moral standing and leadership will stand out regardless of what you try to push.

    Value human life my friend.

how would you recommend taking out Hamas if they hide themselves and their weapons behind civilians?

Good question. I responded to it a couple times in this thread so what I’ll do a quick cliff notes since I can’t dedicate too much time here and it’s not like we debate as much (as opposed to poo fling)

What pretty much every high ranking military commander said. Petraeus who is probably more qualified than anybody when it comes to the war on terror. What our military commanders said to the Israeli govt when they went over as advisors recently and were basically shut out having to say “what Israel does now will be Israel’s decision alone” distancing themselves from the current plan.

    You’ll find plenty of articles

I will say a rather unsettling truth is it will be impossible to destroy Hamas. Hamas is an evil ideology, and the worst part about killing civilians, are the ones that live on. They won’t care about a justification of human Shields etc. they’ll devote their lives to hate

it’s a sad cycle, we’re very fortunate to live in America

My solution is to reward and incentivize Palestinians to do it themselves.

    1. Palestinians rightfully have zero trust of Israel.

    2. That means that they will have to turn the Hamas agents over to a multi-nationally agreed upon group for justice.

    3. Israel would need to remove settlers and agree to a path forward without all of the land they had hoped for.

    4. Palestinians would have to be willing to agree to a viable state without all of the lands they had hoped for.

Positives: Israel has a more secure future and the longer the Palestinians have a viable state the more hostilities will decrease on both sides. Palestinians will truly have control of their resources and ability to have actual control.

Given genestions of this, all but extremists will be content with security/autonomous rule.

The international community can reduce Iran's influence and gain credibility as a neutral arbitror.

Also since Palestians are ridding themselves of Hamas, civilian casualties will be less and collateral damage won't further Increase hostilities towards Israel.

Bottom line is that unless Israel let's Palestinians know for real that they are committed to an end to illegal settlements, a true autonomous state for Palestinians and a true opportunity for Palestians to have control over their future, water, and resources, they will not have a more secure Israel.

Both sides as well as an vary large and diverse international force need to help make sure it happens, but also they need to not let violent actions by one side or the other give them an excuse to stray from that path.

Also both sides need to realize that extremists on both sides will break the agreements to try and halt the process. Both sides need to be committed to not allowing those breaks and actions to halt the agreed upon goals and regulations.

Patraeus is the one of the only people on planet earth who has tried to fight terror and failed. Since you didn't answer the question though i googled General Patraeus's views. Here he basically says (I am summarizing) : '**** them up and yes civilians will die' . what am I missing? he says to do what Israel is doing.

“If you don’t truly destroy Hamas…you’re just mowing the grass again, maybe you’re getting closer to the ground this time, but they will come back.”

"its inevitable that there will be loss of civilian life. "

"And of course, Israel wants to adhere to the Geneva convention and to try to minimize the loss of life to innocent civilians and that simply is not possible. They should blame Hamas for all of this because its that attack that brought this about at a time when Israel was loosening restrictions"

you posted a soundbite that went around vs what was said. Its out there and in this thread, you'll find other accounts as well from generals not to mention the recent advisory team to israel. You can take it as a W or whatever I'm just not getting into it for the 10th time to be quite honest

Palestinians need to be in charge of removing Hamas, not Israel. Do what it takes to make that happen. Nobody has been willing to do that, yet.

i posted an 18 minute interview of him talking about what should happen... thats not a soundbite

they have had 30 years to do that. In your opinion, why does Hamas set up shop in Gaza and not Isreal? Their goal is to destroy Isreal, so logistically they should set up in Isreal. They set up shop in Gaza because Gaza tolerates Hamas and Isreal doesn't. I have not seen a Palestinian protest against Hamas. not in the US or anywhere

Blinken is not simply making sound bites that so many politicians do to get their day over with,...You absolutely feel the realness in his tone, the gravity and impact is real - I have gained a lot of respect for Blinken in how he has clearly presented the situation rhetorically-

Palestinians apparently can't even keep Hamas out of hospitals or prevent Hamas from stopping civilians from evacuating Northern Gaza, how on earth are they rounding up all of Hamas and turning them over to some unidentified third party for "justice" whatever that means. Wouldn't justice be their life imprisonment as terrorist murderers (or the death penalty, though I am not a fan myself)? Is there a greater than 0% chance that happens?

They haven't had reason or trust to remove Hamas ever. They won't do it for no reason. They need realistic and active incentives to do it. They have never had that. They have never since '47 been offered that.

It will take not a world War but a "world peace" to accomplish that.

It will mean that Israel has to remove Israeli settlements, give up all control to most of the Jordan Valley, part of Jerusalem, and allow other nations to deal with some of the security in disputed areas.

Palestinians will need to remove Hamas and agree to a government that will abide by the new borders and independent state of which they will be in control.

The Palestian state will need to be viable and self sufficient.

The international community will need to recompense Israel for lost land and supplant the funds to Palestinians from Iran. International troops need to patrol and maintain security.

Both sides need to realize there will be extremists on both sides that attack, murder, destroy, and are extremists. Neither side can allow the actions of the extremist minority to derail the process and forward progress. Both sides will attempt to lure the other side into horrible acts of violence and retribution. Neither side can give in and will need to pledge to that ahead of time.

In return for this, Palestians will receive a chance at true self sustaining autonomy. Israel will be more secure than they have ever been. The longer it lasts the more both can benefit from increased trade, autonomy and self-sufficiency.

It would be a huge undertaking by many nations, but could finally help stabilize the region and serve as a model for other conflict resolutions going forward.

What won't work is expecting to take actions based on zero incentive and zero assurance of trust moving forward.

What won't work is to expect Israel to give up their security, or not have a Jewish homeland.

It's a big ask from both sides going forward. But the rewards would be worthwhile for both sides going forwards. The whole process would be difficult to achieve going forward. But with international pressure and aid going forward, it could work.

World Peace vs. World War is how to get it done.

Because that isn't possible. Hospitals aren't security areas. No hospital in any nation can keep government forces from entering.

If Palestinians that turned over Hamas terrorists would be granted more reclaimed land in a new and sustainable nation, would absolutely have a reason to act accordingly.

But they need to be assured the land would be theirs and not allowed to be seized or redistributed.

I wish it was laughable. Sadly, it isn't. Your approach is tired, has been been done before, based blood lust and revenge. It doesn't provide Israel with greater security going forward and only ensures further insecurity and bloodshed.
