Fred VanVleet will be the worst FA acquisition in Rockets history

Just dropping in to lay down a bet that as the team develops, a lot of the early grumbling about FVV will subside.

 

We overpaid for a mentor that was very much needed. His skills are not as important as the knowledge he can provide for this group of AAU Rockets. Eventually if and if ever at all JG develops into the player some on this board claim he can be FVV will either be relegated to the bench or traded to his destination of choice more than likely. Especially if Amen can develop into a very good 1/2 guard. JG is in that Eric Gordon, Ben Gordon mold. Too small to play Sg and isn't exactly a PG at the moment. If FVV can show him how to be at least serviceable as a 1 and read the game better, then he will be worth every penny. You can then avoid the issue of just being too small and not lengthy enough to compete against the other up and coming teams like Orlando, Detroit, OKC, and Spurs.

Why don't we see what everyone is like after 30 games. Not 3. It's a whole new team with a new coaching staff and all new system.

People acting like that transition is easy. Like they know.

In the end, if he doesn't work out, they cut him after 2.

 

Udoka will call Harden a basketball genius and then choose the less intelligent, less talented, less entertaining FVV to develop a team. FVV couldn’t even make the playoffs last year

I would rather watch Amen and Whitemore run 30 minutes a game then watch FVV and Brooks try to be somebody the next two years

We could keep Denis Schroeder for 15 to 20 % of FVV salary in 2022-23 summer.

What are you talking about? Green is at least 6'4 how is he too small to play SG? He is taller than Anthony Edward's you make zero sense.

 

FVV is seen as a better player than schroeder. At the very least he is a better shooter than Schroeder.

Who cares about salary? Rox didn't have anyone else they could pay.

Key word, develop. Harden is not about that role. Look harden is my top 3 most favorite rocket of all time so I'm not a harden hater but harden does what makes him look good and lives his life the way that pleases him. More power to him for making millions while living that lifestyle but I don't want that guy to be mentoring the young guys

 

If this guy is the worst FA signing then rockets must be amazing at signing FA
