I think DD had a crush on Vspan.......I think people wanted him to be a better shooter and it never materialized but I think he was only paid 2 million, no biggie. Dmo universally liked, he was sympathetic, I was not too fond of his overall game as well. Micic and Vezenkov are getting 7 million. https://hoopshype.com/player/vassilis-spanoulis/salary/
It's nice to see what he's able to do now that he's actually given the opportunity. I'm happy that Ime seems to see what most of us already saw regarding Senguns playmaking ability when he is actually given the opportunity.
He was by far our best rebounder in the first two games. Last night's game pulled down his average. That's what happens with a 3-game sample size. His second year rebounding percentage improved significantly from his rookie year. BTW, reb% is a better gauge than the traditional rpg average which is dependent on PT and team FG%.
He leads the team in rebound percentage I believe. That’s doesn’t mean much, we’re terrible rebounding team
The rockets were one of the best rebounding teams in the league last year with Sengun as center. Somehow they want us to think he just forgot how to rebound now because there’s nothing better to nitpick? There are a handful of fans who are clinging desperately to the narratives they have invested so heavily in the last two years and are grasping at any straws they can get ahold of now.
Yeah it's silly to say he can't rebound. On the flipside though, pretty sure Tari put us as the best rebounding/O-rebounding team in the league by missing most of his first shots and rebounding them for the second haha.
Its not silly at all. The Rockets are dead last in the league in defensive rebounding. Alpy is a really fun player, but there is an opportunity cost to him. A traditional center can anchor an elite defense, clean up mistakes, get easy points via put backs / lobs, and rebound the hell out of the ball. Alpy doesn't provide those things. I am looking at another recent draft pick, Jalen Duren, who doesn't need the ball, but so far for Detroit has given them 18/15/3 per game, and they ain't exactly posting him up.
Duren can get easy points via putbacks / lobs and Sengun can do things Duren can't even in his wildest dreams.
Sorta accurate, I liked him to get a CHANCE because Rafer Alston sucked. That is it, just wanted to see what VSpan could do.... DD
Correct, but irrelevant. What Sengun provides, we can replace from others. What he lacks, cannot be replaced, hence why his fit has always been problematic.
I am looking at a random recent draft pick, who happens to be the nba's best over a 3 game span, omg his numbers are better than sengun. Sengun is thrash. I am looking at a random recent draft pick, Cam thomas. he averaged 33pts a game this season in 2 games. OMG, Green is thrash too.
Replaced with what/whom exactly ? if we could replace his positives on offense we would have. It's very difficult to generate offense and make the right passes in the NBA, which is why Green Jabari KPj were ass at it.
Huh? Alpi literally had 14 rebounds the game before last and 8 of those were defensive rebounds. You're scapegoating the wrong player.
