I love what I'm watching from him.

He's exactly the leader the Rockets needed.

Not even close. It's a 2-year contract. He can easily be gone from the team at next season's trade deadline if it's not working out. For the record, so far I think he's been a good fit. Our defensive intensity is way up and he's played a large part of that. Biggest thing we needed was guys to set an example for the younger players on that end and communicate to them on the court what they need to be doing.

He's been doing what he was told to do. First 2 games he was a pass first, now he seen the trash and he's getting his shots in.

Well, I am not seeing what you are seeing, I see D from time to time but I see enough holes on Defense as well.

This whole Ime knows Defense is being talked up too much bc Ime is not known to be a great Coach on
    Offense.

They just slowed down the pace to seem that the team is getting massive stops.

The opposing team was getting as many 24 second Violations ......

They are not stopping anyone, the Spurs were scoring all the same.

Somehow, I don’t believe you will give up telling us how right you are and ignoring when you are wrong.

FVV has been a disappointment so far and I hope he becomes an incredibly overpaid backup pg before the end of the year, but even though he is a vet, he is just like the others in adjusting to an entirely new system and the fact that it takes time to build chemistry when a team is finally trying to win. Most knowledgeable fans knew we were going to struggle mightily for a while.

On the positive side, Amen looks way more poised and Jalen and Alpi looked good last night. Jabari looked a little less confused on defense, but he still looks a little like a deer in the headlights at this point. I am encouraged by the improvement in defense over last year and expect it to get much better, especially when Tari gets back. I also suspect that if Bullock’s shooting doesn’t come around soon, we will make a trade (maybe a foolish one) to get some outside shooting.

Surely you aren't suggest Amen beats him for the starting role by the end of the year? I don't rate FVV but Amen is so raw and will take more than a season to be a net positive (That's assuming he ever fixes his jumper.)

I said I am hopeful, and, yes, I do think it is possible if he continues to grow game to game and FVV continues to struggle. FVV is not very good at creating for others, albeit, better than KPJ and if he continues to struggle from 3 he will be a net negative as a starting PG, but could be a very good backup. I’m predicting Amen as a superstar and expect him to make a much faster transition than most rookies.

I mean this is what happens when you spend max money and tons of cap space on non stars.

FVV is capped at a good/solid player. That’s it. He’s not a true max level player in the league. His impact is limited to a tier below actual stars who impact winning at the elite level. His role best suited for winning in the NBA is being a support cast for a true 1st option or even 2nd option

No one needs to worry about FVV. He’s not a long term solution at PG. He’s just the guy to fill the role until Amen is ready to take over.

Steady Freddie is not a problem. We are very fortunate to have him. No size and Reggie Bullock and his one missed shot a game are our problems.

The problem isn't FVV or Brooks so far this season - the problem has been the younger players that were expected to make a JUMP.

FVV and Brooks are not going to get better, they are here to help the young players like Green, Sengun and Smith take a leap.

Sengun has been the best of the 3 young ones so far, Smith has shown a few flashes - but I am the most disappointed by Green thus far - but it is early. Hell, I have been more impressed by Thompson than the other ones truthfully.

Amen Thompson is so athletic, and has really good surprise - I expect him to start being a net positive some games coming off the bench once he is comfortable. There will be matchups where the jumper will matter and he will shoot himself off the court, but there will also be a lot of times where he simply does a lot of damage in bursts.

Right now he is the best bet the Rockets have for a genuine top 10 player in the league.

Green seems to have all the talent and tools to be a super star but if he ever reaches that potential it won't be here, he's not a Rockets fan and probably does not care very much about being here. He will end up in a big market Cali team eventually and the passion may come out, Wemby was a Spurs fan and you can see he wants it..... Other young players get really comfortable where they are drafted as well and grow to really like their teams but I just don't see it here... Maybe Sengun, that's it...

FVV and Brooks are here for the money, they will come in and play their game but I doubt any type of failure is disappointing to them because its just a job for them. Most of the other young guys probably have the same mentality, how can they get good enough to stay in the league and go to their long term team where they can contribute towards long term success... Houston is where they were drafted not where they want to play.

I just don't see real passion from anyone.... I'm starting to think this whole rebuild might amount to nothing, maybe one guy sticks and I'd put my money on Sengun...

Green was very highly thought of when it came to desire and work habits before he joined Club Stone and didn't have to do anything the last few years. So the hope is that he isn't just complacent and that Udoka will challenge him and get more out of him. Jabari Smith wants to win and wants to be great - the problem is that he loses confidence too easily, and that can be a serious long term issue.

Sengun is Sengun, he is a professional and he can play - but he has some serious flaws.

Thompson has insane upside but he looks like Michael Jackson as a ghoul in Thriller and he has never had to play real basketball before.

Udoka has already gotten on the young guys more than Silas ever did. He basically called them soft and non competitive after the first or second game.

It is going to be an interesting year. One of the 3 young players won't likely be here in a year.
