No. You are usually incorrect. Like this time.

Alp has literally been the best defender on the team the first two games

It’s weird - I guess a good GM doesn’t just draft a bunch of random players and after the fact assume they will fit.

Hmmmm, I thought a good GM drafts the best player available and after the fact assumes (hopes?) they will fit.

Yep, but if only the average of the first two games is the norm and not some kind of outlier. ;)

Did you see what Anthony freeking Cole and Vassell did to us. Perimeter defense has absolutely sucked.

The perimeter and interior are within the same system. One has to work for the other to be successful. It’s not this half that half. Good coaching will pick at the weaknesses and NBA is full of good coaching. Becoming fundamentally sound is the only way to improve. Rookie like low IQ players get exposed because that is what good coaching does. The exposure put pressure on the team as a whole not just the singled out player(s). We see player A out of position and get beat because player B is lost and not recorded from a poor decision. Everyone talks about player A but really player B is the problem.

football. A corner gets beat on a 40 yard bomb. The WR is not always better. Why does the QB have that much time to think and through? DE did his job but the DT let the QB step up through the pocket. —> Team.

Rockets insist on taking a high volume of three's but they don't make them at all. If the team is going to do that it would be nice if we traded and aquired players who could actually shoot.

I think getting the guys we already have to shoot better is the more feasible route at the moment.
A trade for a sharp shooter, a good one, is going to require a nice player going out.
I dont think the Rockets are ready to trade away their undeveloped high ceiling guys just yet.

Sengun is a very good offensive rebounder probably top 6-7 among the centers itl but he's pretty bad at grabbing defensive rebounds. Needs to be more aggressive. Though all things considered i don't think this is the reason why we are losing. It's the god awful shooting.

Part of why the opponent is scoring less is also why the Rockets are scoring less, less possessions.

The defense is tracking very, very well.

We don't need more defense, we need some damn shot makers...

Rockets need to pay Rodman to come and spend 2 weeks with Sengun and the rest of the team on how to rebound.

Then, for every missed 3 during the game, each player should have to make 100 three pointers from the same spot before they play the next game. (50 if it's a back-to-back) Period. Turn that weakness into a strength. The one exception I would make is if the shooter is hitting 50% of his threes he can just make 20 ( he's good enough already)

I expect the pace to pick up, but it will not be a fast pace when FVV is on the court. The Calvary is coming with Amen and Tari just probably won’t get here soon enough for most.

It all goes hand in hand with perimeter defense. If we can get that figured out then our bigs will be in better position for defensive rebounds. We are not hitting the offensive boards as hard as last year, because transition defense is being emphasized. We will get our share on the offensive side, but we won’t be as elite as last year. The good news is that we are not lust a layup drill for other teams like last year. Our defense will continue to improve, but until we can hit outside shots our half court offense is going to suck. If Jalen and Bari don’t step up in that regard, we will have to look to the trade market.
