DeSantis is pretty uninteresting at this point. More importantly this is a classic example of Maggie H reporting the news but also eagerly participating in it. She's the NYT's Trump liason. That's who she is and how she made her name. Trump has made Pudding Fingers DeSantis his sworn enemy. Pudding Fingers - who, it must be admitted, was largely a media creation as a fearful politician in the first place, created in no small part by credulous political press including the NYT - is now getting whupped in real time in part because most RNC sociopath voters don't even listen to the politicial press, and because he was never the guy the political press told us he was. Meanwhile, Maggie H - one of the most prominent mmebers of the political press - who has a vested interest in the continued relevance of Trumpdom - is out here concern trolling Ron D in order to hobble him domestically. The NYT and Maggie H have interest in the continued relevance of DJT - so they tweet about it to help make it happen. That's more notable than the tweet itself.

So trump supporters, who for who knows what reason see trump as being strong, dynamic, and different, simply saw desantis as a weaker, less dynamic, and less different. This run has been doomed from the start, he can't seem to get out of his own way. The folks in Fl appear to love the guy so maybe its time to drop out and go back to governing, I don't see a path forward and the longer he goes the more pissed his cult leader will be and there is no coming back from that.
